Avoid SkyBell that requires Monitoring
I chose SkyBell because I wanted a video doorbell without expensive monthly monitoring fees.

I want to like this company but this product is just so damn unreliable. Can’t watch live (for years!) app crashes as soon as you click “watch live”. Motion is never triggered despite it being set correctly. Super disappointing

Live doesn’t work
Ever since we had to merge to the new Skybell app, it’s horrible. You can’t watch live. You have to wait up to 3 minutes to go back and watch something that has just been captured. Horrible app with lots of issues. We would have never ordered a Skybell if we knew we would have to wait 3 minutes to see if there is an intruder at the door. A lot can happen in 3 minutes!!!!!

Hit or miss
This new version of the app makes me log in every couple of days which is annoying. When I need it most to see who’s at my door it takes too long to login. With that worked better

Terrible, takes a long time to load video.
By the time you load up the live video, whoever trigger the motion alarm is long gone. Useless.
Top Tier Door Bell Camera
I’ve had my Skybell Cam installed for years ( 8.5 years ) Works everytime. Original one. I’m beyond impressed and everytime someone talks about what doorbell to get, I jump at the chance to brag about Skybell.
Doorbell is not connecting anymore
When we first started using the doorbell it was fine but now it wont even connect to Wifi. It has been stuck like this for almost a year.
I have spent hours trying to connect to wifi and the doorbell simply wont connect. They later blamed the internet company because how dare I say the doorbell has a problem!
At this point, the mechanical ring does not work too. What a waste of a product! I hate it and do not recommend!
Update: Okay I read few reviews and seems like there are many people like me for whom the device does not work and still they will blame everything else but the doorbell!

Every time someone is at the door I get notified on my cell phone. The person does not have to ring the bell for me to be notified. The good thing is I can talk to whoever even when I am not at home. Until the present time I have not missed a notification or malfunction. Highly Recommend.
I Thought I Liked It
I’ve had this doorbell since we built our house in 2020 and the longer I have it, the more I hate it. By the time the app loads and the video opens up, whoever was at the door is already gone. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, performed network tests and nothing changes. Anyone thinking about getting this device should look elsewhere. It says “Front Door On-Demand” but that’s not the case at all. More like “Front Door I’ll be with you When I’m Ready”.
