Very good but crashes atm
App is very good, many quality of life features, but crashes when opening progress. No fix in sight, no answers from the publishers.
It works, but it has just a few problems.
Hi, I really love Slay the Spire, the board game is fantastic, and the companion app does what it says, but it has a few problems with it.
One of these problems is that the more menus I navigate, the slower the app responds. I suspect that this is because pressing the back button doesn’t actually back out of the menu that the user is on, but instead takes them to the menu that they were on previously and adding another menu layer, which causes the app to take longer to respond the more layers there are.
Also, this might be a problem with my device in particular, I use an iPhone XR, but the background art is shifted halfway to the right, leaving the left half of the screen to be black layered with whatever hue color was chosen for the menu you’re on currently.
But other than that the app works perfectly. Happy patching!

App crashes :(
the App crashes when I want to open the progress. It worked a couple montgs back and now I dont know which ascension im on and cant see my achievements etc :(
Otherwise its a nice app. I'd wish for the option to also save the deck, relics and potions for different runs via the app (or the option to save photos)

Much better after a few updates
I’m updating my review since the app has been updated and now it’s much better.
The music player works with the phone locked and has a loop function, great! Stilli it’s not integrated with the native iOS player, but that’s minor.
Also the typos seem to be fixed.

Love the game, the app….
Good start on the app. It does make it easier to look things up also I have my friends use it on their own to get a better idea of rules and such.
One thing though, even though I can use the app on my iPhone. Can you set it up so that I can use the app on my iPad on landscape mode?

Good start, needs work
The app has been really useful for quickly referencing the rulebook without actually needing to flip through the physical book. The music feature was something I was also really excited about but as of now it’s broken and doesn’t play anything. A feature I wish would be added is the ability to save your deck in the app, as of now the saves feature is kind of useless. Currently you can only track health, gold, character, and act. Loving the board game so far!

Thank you for the great feedback, especially about the save game feature. We are currently looking for feedback regarding how players would prefer to save their decks through this feature. Please join our Discord, we'd love to hear more. We are actively working to resolve issues in the music player and improve that feature's game immersion. We'd by happy for any additional feedback on that feature as well.
Great App, a couple of errors
Hi Contention Games team! You’ve made a phenomenal board game, and this companion app is going to be utterly wonderful alongside it. There are a few issues though - mostly incorrect formatting or text being duplicated. Another pass will catch all of these, I’m sure.
Some that jumped out at me as I was having a quick browse were:
-Characters Page having all sections with the heading “Strength (Max 8)” for every character
- Act 4 and The Keys page having “MonsterToken” etc instead of the icons in the section detailing burning elite.
There may be more, but these were the first two pages I looked at so I thought I’d report them here!

Has everything I would need to play the game - the music, flawless interface as well as all the stuff I don’t want to ask during an immersive game! Absolutely love it! You have set the example for a brilliant companion app! I would recommend maybe having a curated faq section - to be updated occasionally e.g specific card queries that get asked on boardgamegeek, such as the use of foils, number of specific cards, or how carve reality works and is the damage split or applied to both enemies. Love the game!
