Fun game.

Great game to play with large groups, but is really only fun to play with 5 up players, though nothing that they can do

UI Compatibility Issues

On my IPad 9 when playing with words that are too long they overlap, it would be great if you could add a setting that could adjust the UI size, or just adjust it for certain devices. It was especially bad using the Fortune Teller as on longer phrases the boxes went off the bottom of the screen.

Word font size needs fixing

Generally a great app for the game but has one big issue causing a problem for playability. The font size when viewing the magic word is way too small. We typically use this on a phone, and if sitting further away from the middle of the table, some people struggle to read the word, essentially breaking the gameplay. Why not make the font as large as possible and use the full screen?

Fun twist on werewolf

This is my friend group’s favorite game to play currently. I do have one suggestion. It is my opinion that there’s a flaw in the game, and it occurs when the doppelgänger copies the werewolf role and the village does not guess the secret word. When this happens, the app tells the village to find the werewolves OR the doppelgänger, which essentially exposes that they were evil that round. I would suggest removing the doppelgänger from the list of evil players during the role guessing phase. Doing so would open the opportunity for an evil doppelgänger to behave as though they copied a village player, like a seer, and make it less easy for the village to guess the evil team. Otherwise, the village always knows the doppelgänger picked an evil player’s card and it makes it easier for them to guess. At the very least, the option to toggle this as a setting would be greatly appreciated. Currently as a workaround, we just tell the doppelgänger to select the villager role even if they flip a werewolf card at the beginning so they don’t get exposed as evil during the role guessing phase.

Useless on iPad

On iPad it is impossible to select from all roles during game setup for 20 players. Only 6 roles are visible with the tops of others just visible but not discernible. Useless.

FAQ

What does the Werewords app do?

The Werewords app is a companion tool for the physical Werewords board game. It manages the night phase of the game, generates the secret 'Magic Word' that players must guess, and provides timer options to keep the game moving. It also allows for customization of game settings and word lists.

Do I need to buy the Werewords board game to use the app?

Yes, this app requires either the physical Werewords or Werewords Deluxe Edition game to be played. The app itself does not contain the game mechanics or content; it serves as a digital facilitator for the board game experience.

What kind of word lists are available?

The app offers over 40,000 words across four difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Ridiculous. It also includes built-in themed wordlists such as Movies, 80s, Music, Literature, Food, TV, Video Games, Monsters, Animals, Hobbies, and Celebrities. You can also create custom word lists and load community word lists from werewords.com.

Can I adjust the game timers?

Yes, the app allows you to adjust the in-game and day phase timers. You can also customize how many words the Mayor may pick from, and whether proper nouns are included or excluded from the word selection.

What are the different ways to win in Werewords?

Players win by correctly guessing the Magic Word before time runs out. If the word is not guessed in time, the players can still win by identifying the werewolf. The werewolf wins if they can identify the Seer after the word is guessed. The app helps manage these win conditions by controlling the game flow and timers.
