Money motivate consumer fraud
While there are easily 10,000 reasons why Small Door deserves 5-stars, my recent experience has left no room for anything more than one due to the severity. Dr. Dray Richmond administered an injection to my dog that I had refused in a prior visit for concerns about the risks and lethality or long term damage. An injection to treat an undiagnosed issue that by itself was not life threatening. And the “24/7” staff responds telling you there is nothing they can do for you until the next day, then the next day they tell you that you have to wait 3 more days to talk to a different person. This is potentially mal practice and is definitely fraud, deceptive sales practices, and a major breech of contract and trust.
There are several incredible vets here. All of the techs are wonderful. The reception team is top of the line. This review is the result of one bad situation but the gravity of the situation combined with the lack of urgency to resolve it is extremely concerning. If they did more to resolve this problem like they actually cared, this review wouldn’t have been needed at all. I share with you so you can be aware for yours and your furry companions protection.

Crooks
Went in just to establish care for one of my cats. She has a history of bladder stones but was not having any problems at the time and is otherwise health. Ended up having to pay $776.93 not including membership. They try to fleece you as much as possible. It works once but I would never return. They did not treat her for anything. But in order to establish care they insisted on blood work and other work ups she did not need and all showed she was health like I already knew. STAY AWAY

Falls way short of expectations
This is a concierge vet - ie expensive at $1,500 annually - while they are good with quick appointments they are terrible at follow up - getting test results etc. impossible to call them in Bethesda without going through a New York number and then go through 4 menus to select operator and 60% of the time they don’t answer. The app is geared for booking appointments - the Chat feature often has a 30-60 min wait - I paid $1,500 a year for this??!!?

They randomly try to charge your credit card
I signed up for a free account over a year ago. I never used the service and they just tried to charge my credit card $179.
Difficulty speaking with the team over the phone
The practice communicates by chat/text message which is convenient at times but unfortunately led to miscommunication and can become difficult when conversations require communication over the phone.
