App stopped working weeks ago
The thermostat app hasn’t worked in weeks. Just says “apologies our servers seem to be down at the moment” every time you open the app.
Not Working
App automatically pops up an error message on both Apple and Android devices. Has been out of order for over 2 weeks.

The is the most inefficient app out there please don’t get those smart thermostats from Nevada energy they are nothing but a heading and the app seems like it was created by kids .
App is unreliable
I often adjust my thermostat on the app and it fails to actually make the change on our wall unit (and thus our AC unit or heater) rendering it useless when away from the house. I’m also unable to set the “away” schedule—it just reverts back to the standard schedule. The app is totally worthless, except to check and make sure NV energy hasn’t involuntarily put us into an “energy saving” event.

Temperature
App doesn’t change settings as you adjust temperature. Usually have to make adjustments manually at thermostat. Doesn’t learn with manual adjustments as jumps settings by up to three degrees by itself.
NVenergy Garbage thermostat
I really hope NVEnergy software for our electrical grid do not use the people who make this thermostat. If so, everyone is in trouble.

Setting Do Not Apply
I open the app and change the temp up or down on or off but it does not apply. Sometimes it works but more often it does not.
Doesn’t work
The App doesn’t work. Doesn’t turn unit on or off or change temp in the house, and the thermostat they installed doesn’t show actual temp in the house. It’s about 5degrees off at all times.

This app stinks. Most of the time the settings I put in on the app don’t ever go through and it just reverts to your old settings or makes up its own settings. I keep my thermostat high in the summer, like 80 to 82, but NV energy will still bump my thermostat up to 84 on its energy saving days. I can understand doing that to people who have their thermostat set to 60s or 70s, but not when it’s already at 80. Trying to kill my pets? I mean, I hate them but I don’t want to kill them.

Probably the worst thermostat/ biggest scam
It’s been next to impossible to create a schedule going on 6 months. Also NV energy routinely sets my thermostat to 88 degrees themselves during the summer. I have pets and work from home.

Renting a house with an NV energy thermostat. The old tenants Settings are saved and the AC goes on at midnight and 6 am and I can’t reset the setting. The app/ website doesn’t let me register and when I call their system hung up on me. This ridiculously bad, this system that is supposed to save energy is wasting energy.

App doesn’t work.
Whenever I try to change the settings via my app, it does not work. It will temporarily change but then always reverts back to my original settings. We have to manually change the settings on the box.
App not responding!
The app does not respond when you want to go from heating to cold . When ever I try it gives and error message and snaps right back to the setting before. Something is horribly wrong. I had to uninstall it 3 times to try and change it. Still having issues. I need to call NV Energy to replace this thermostat or ask for them to reach out to the app developer because the person is not correcting the problem and it’s been happening off and on for sometime now!

Okay— but older thermostats stopped working
The app is okay and has worked well for me over the past four or five years, but recently (as of Oct-2021), the older thermostat I have installed stopped responding. Turns out it’s an issue with all of the old ones so they’re replacing it ✨for free✨. For those complaining about the app changing the temp, you have to go into the app and check your schedule. It’s likely on a schedule that you can adjust. Also you can opt out of energy events using the app or by changing your temp on the thermostat. I like participating in events because it helps the environment by reducing the amount of electric demand at peak times so they don’t have to use as much less efficient backup generators. Give it a shot, it’s a good FREE alternative to Nest IMO.
