Toller Reiseführer

Ich liebe diese App auf Reisen. Man kann in kompakter Zeit sehr viel über die Städte lernen. Das einzige was schade ist, dass nicht alle Touren auch auf Deutsch verfügbar sind. Zumindest eine Übersetzungsmöglichkeit mit dem KI Assistenten wäre schön. Vielleicht wird das ja in Zukunft noch verbessert, dann wäre sie auf jeden Fall absolut perfekt.

Cusco Walking Tour AI Slop

Very disappointing walking tour. Seemed like AI slop. Very hard to follow. Not well guided. Information was very basic, and the accent was terrible.

the review i took on this app sucked it sounded like they just had an ai bot read over the wikipedia pages for each attraction. gave no context to anything it was talking about. other apps will have local guides actually give these tours from their unique perspective rather then an ai bot

AI slop

The audio would start and stop randomly regardless if I was at the destination or not, making it impossible to learn about the area. The voice is robotic, very clearly AI generated slop.

This is no better than Wikipedia or one of the better AI tools. It’s just a mechanical voice reading stuff you can easily find online.

Misleading and unfair charge

I wanted to use the trial. I presssed on it then it bought the whole 1 year package accidentally. While I was getting it thru iTunes I did not show the price at all. So I was thinking to get trial and ending with paying yearly prices without being notified. That’s totally unfair. I want my money back. I will write reviews on every single platform if the company does not approach me with integrity and fair policy

Absolutely appalling

Having used Voice Map which is excellent, this looked a great companion app for other locations. Used today for a tour of Toulouse and was so disappointed about the functionality and content. A 10km walk had 14 spots of voice content each of about 30 seconds, delivered with a monotone AI voice adding no local flavour or interest. In between (about 95% of the time) absolutely nothing. Save your money and use Voice Map with real people, local flavour, interest throughout the walk and excellent location guidance. So disappointed £18 completely wasted. AVOID!

Disappointing tour on Prague Tram 42

Although I feel bad rating an app like this based on a single experience, it’s all I have to judge by. Tram 42 is Prague’s restored historic tram line that takes you past many of the city’s most famous architectural landmarks. Unfortunately, the SmartGuide wasn’t particularly helpful or useful, nor was the audio intuitive. Instead of offering to automatically advance to the next vignette, it requires you to both choose the stop and then play the audio each time (otherwise the prior audio just resumes). The clips contain useful and interesting tidbits, but they’re usually longer than the time between stops. This means you’re forced to skip the last part of many of the tour explanations in order to start the next narrative. Furthermore, the stops are numbered on the tram but the numbers don’t align with the narratives at all. In one case, the audio didn’t even match the transcription—it was a completely different story. I’m a bit surprised that this app is recommended by the staff when boarding the tram.

Application avec des audioguides de 1 minute rédigés par une IA et lue par une IA. Vous allez dans un lieu emblématique d’une ville : il y a rien d’intéressant expliqué. Bref cette application ne sert à rien y compris avec l’abonnement premium…

Shallow content

Very disappointed with this app. I went to Thailand and Malaysia last week. Used this guide and noted that it doesn’t give any more information available at the site. Just the description of the place for a minute or two. Doesn’t cover the rich heritage and tapestry. You need local guide to give that information. YouTube is much better for information. Only thing this does is notify the spots as you approach them. Waste of money

This app will change the way you travel

The days of annotated city maps from hotels and tourist office pamphlets are over. SmartGuide really has changed the way I travel and I’ve learnt so much about the places I visit. The app is very easy to use and, for a small fraction of the price of a guided tour, you can have vast amounts of accessible knowledge in the palm of your hand.

Scam app, false 3 day free trial ad. When I click to do the free 3 day trial, I am immediately charged $20 for a year subscription. Scam app. Apple needs to take this garbage down.

Audio cuts in and out

The app looks like it has good information, but it is too annoying to have the sound cutting in and out continually. Not good communication by the app about how to operate. I’m annoying interruptions for ads

Average- AI made guides

The app is rubbish! I paid for premium as advertised how you can create your own root and it will do the tour. This “AI” function never works- have tried in various spots in LA and NY!

The audios are terrible AI also- literally scrubbed the net for average facts. It’s so bad that it reads data like bad AI numbers!

Wrongly charged

I don’t know how I ended up with being charged for this app. I want to cancel!
Addendum 10-9-25…upgraded my review after Apple refunded me (Thank you Apple!)…watch out for extra charges that pop up; it is not a free app!

A.I. feature doesn’t work

I asked the A.I. in the app to build a walking tour of up to 4 miles in a loop to see the sights on Crete, Greece. It plotted part of the walking tour as an 8 mile walk to a museum in another town. Not too intelligent.

I thought it was good until Edinburgh…

We had a great time using this app in Dublin and Glasgow. It gave great information and usually asked, “Want to learn more?” on the majority of the locations.

Edinburgh was another story. We got a 2 or three sentence blurb on important sites and only once were given a bit more information.

I’m glad we have it as it does a great job leading you around your chosen city. I just wish it was more consistent with the content.

Does not work on iPad

I downloaded a second copy onto my iPad, but it does not launch. Get stuck at the first page. It does work fine on my iPhone.
