Very intuitive
Our firm opened with Smokeball as our client management software. The attorney and I had both used other software, but we both think Smokeball is amazing. The AI component is incredibly helpful. If there is anything I am having trouble with Smokeball support is right there. They also offer free training on any subject whenever we want.

Functionality is not as good as the desktop version of course, but convenient for when you are on the go. I use the app primarily for quick look up of matter details and documents if needed. I don’t rely on the app heavily.
iPad Use
The iOS app pales in comparison to the desktop application. I don’t believe we should expect 1:1 performance between the two, but improvements to mobile could be made. Please separate the emails and documents out of the “files” tab. The matter search function also does not seem to work very well. Unless a matter is a task of event, I have a hard time finding what I need. That being said, having all files while away from the desktop is a luxury and I’m willing to deal with some quirks. Running on a last generation iPad Pro.

Disappointing
I'm a new user, who has only been able to enter time so far. I cannot look in a matter, my calendar does not synch or display accurately, and the app crashes frequently.
Terrible App - Terrible Case Management Software
The app is missing important features from the main program. The cost of Smokeball increases dramatically year after year. Don’t get trapped with this program.

1-Star until it works on my iPad
I’ve contacted SB support requesting the iPad app be updated. I have held off on posting a review for months due to the promise that an iPad update was coming. Now, almost a year into my subscription, I feel compelled to leave a review in hopes of pushing SB developers to update this app. At a minimum, enable users to use the current app on iPad in landscape. After that, optimize the app for iPad OS. Until then, this app is useless on iPad. Do not subscribe to SB if you are doing so in reliance on being able to use this app.
When SB finally updates their iPad app, I will update my review. If this is not resolved by the time my first-year contract expires, it will weigh substantially on my consideration of whether not to renew.

App versions are awful!
A big sales push is that you can have on your cell phone or iPad, but it has minimal functionality that way (won’t connect to emails, etc), is not user friendly, and isn’t full screen!

Terrible for IPad, great for IPhone
The app works great for IPhones, but absolutely terrible for IPads. I used to use the Smokeball app on my iPad for client meetings and it was fantastic, now it is terrible!

Can’t believe you got rid of the iPad app
I bought an iPad as a practice aid specifically because SB had an iPad optimized app, which I used all the time. The mobile app on iPad does not even come close. Very disappointed.

Good Grief
I could swear that just the other day there was a version of this app that worked perfectly on my 12.9 inch iPad. I logged in today and was forced to ‘upgrade’ to this complete downgrade. If you don’t want to work on your little phone in Court, skip this and just bring your laptop. Smokeball just took us iPad users back to square one. *sigh*

Documents and clients
Smokeball has been great for me on the go. Ability to access client information with ease and log reminders is great for me. Great product to use on my phone when I’m not at the computer
Helpful in court
The ability to access my files while on the go has been a huge help to our firm. I don’t have to worry about forgetting a document or chasing down WiFi in a rush anymore and that alone makes Smokeball worth our investment. Before getting case management software I was creating all sorts of reminders for myself on the phone notepad; creating tasks that associate with the file help keep me much more organized. Everything is all in one place now and I don’t think I could go back.

Useless on the newer iPads. Works great on my old iPad. I wish there was a way to input information to cases from a remote source.
