BS membership
I’m giving a one star because I can’t give no stars. You already have to pay to get credits yet you have to have a monthly membership. This is a total rip off and scam. Get rid of your membership and I will change my review.

Needs a fix
I can’t even load the app anymore. When I try to log in, I get an error message. Totally unusable.
Predatory subscription model
After my 7 day trial I was excited to continue trying this month to month for a while. There’s only ONE spot in my area. I was not aware that I was going to be charged annually. I needed monthly. Now I’m broke because they put the “annual” in tiny letters. Predatory behavior as a business. I was just trying to help my dog. And yes, blame me alllllll you want for not seeing the “annual” - because it was disclosed, but be for REAL, it looks like you’re advertising monthly and you’re tricking people into large payments.

It’s now subscription based
Honestly really disappointed to see sniff spot now requires a subscription. I don’t see a point in even keeping the app downloaded anymore. I hope these prices are somehow achievable for some people because it’s truly wild how much is being charged.

We LOVE Sniffspot. Living in the city with a small yard, this is such a great way for my dogs to explore and have the freedom they deserve
No app should require a subscription before even showing you what they offer
Misleading app in my opinion. They make you sign up for a “free account” and don’t even let you view a single property that’s available. Then they try to force you into a subscription just to view any properties. I deleted it instantly.
AVOID!!! TERRIBLE credits policy!!!!
The yards and the owners are great, but the credits policy RUINS this app!!! Not everyone wants a recurring monthly bill for this app! If you have credits, they do NOT live past membership expiration! So if you want to have a month of the app a few times a year and you can’t use the credits you have, they get thrown away and will NOT be waiting when you come back later to renew for another month later on. It costs you jerks NOTHING to keep those credits tied to an account we all know you only soft delete. So don’t lie and act like there’s no way to tie them to a user account. I would’ve given this app 5/5 if it wasn’t for this GARBAGE credits policy!!!!! You just lost a customer forever and I will tell everyone to stay away from this GREEDY company!!! 40+ credits lost for no good reason, total BULL!!!

Membership/High Initiation Fee
Initially downloaded for the free trial and didn’t read the fine print or look too much into “memberships.”
I was simply curious to search the app and see what the options were like. I ended up finding two places which I loved! However the “credits” thing is confusing and I ended up only get one visit for free, minus $1 🙄 and then the second visit was $13, because we didn’t have “credits” since a membership was not established.
Either way, 100% worth it for the visit and privacy we had.
HOWEVER…thanks to my husband, he found the fine print and it stated we agreed to be charged $192 on day one of the membership start date, kick rocks.
1. It wasn’t advertised when I signed up for the free trial
2. We had to find it in the fine print
3. It doesn’t clearly state if this is an annually fee or a one time charge.
Either way, I am not paying $192 on some initiation fee to then also pay for a MONTHLY membership to navigate how many “credits” I have and THEN to potentially pay a balance difference if I don’t have enough credits.
Great concept, way too complicated. Would much rather pay for a visit as I can go. Unfortunately won’t continue to use. Very bummed, because two spots we found were great. Still not worth it.

Booking issues
I’m new to the app but it’s so convoluted when it comes to payment. Credits are never explained, just give me the dollar amount. Pricing is confusing, for no reason.
Requiring membership is really crazy, too, because apparently there IS a way to book without membership, but it’s unclear what that is, and that seems shady and predatory to force membership on some users and not others. Not everyone wants a subscription service.
The app’s functionality when it comes to modifying a visit leaves a lot to be desired, too. I went to change a visit more than 12 hours before the allotted time, and the app would not allow me to save changes, even after multiple times force closing the app and starting over. Reached out to customer support and heard nothing back. I ended up having to cancel the visit altogether. I like the idea and the actual spots I’ve visited have been great for me and my dog. The app though? Frustrating and could use some work.

Subscriptions are not as accurate-Make sure to read reviews!!!! Not 4.9 more like 2/5
EDIT: still having issues with them returning my credits/issuing a refund when they stated they would. Now they are just not responding and i’ve emailed them almost 3 weeks now.

just wanted to say it first the idea of ASAP is actually really good however they do not explain things accurately. Subscriptions will delete your credits if they are unused. they explained your billing cycle is yearly, and all credits will be deleted by then however they will delete them monthly… and when you messaged them about the inconsistencies, they provide you with no help but explain they understand it was not properly communicated . I really thought my friends and I found a good app however, with this inconsistencies makes me no longer want to use it as well as my friends has had multiple issues with the same thing.
Updated: They responded and it does not clearly depict your credits expire throughout the year.
It stated they expire at the END of your membership (if you don’t renew)
Now I am having issues again with my credits expiring before my memberships ends.
Apparently they are having a lot of problems because they’re still viewing messages from May 25th

Lifesaver
If it weren’t for Sniffspot, our lives would be confined to structured walks only. We have two dogs, one of which we can bring anywhere, but the other is leash-reactive and also overly-stimulated at dog parks to the point where we get into trouble 99% of the time.
Sniffspot provides that off-leash freedom and exercise our dogs need. It is absolutely the best invention ever, in my opinion.
We are in the San Francisco-Daly City area so we book regularly at smaller backyards/spaces due to the urban nature of where we live, but on occasion we choose further away Sniffspots where we can explore larger and more exciting places like Petaluma, Occidental, Los Altos Hills, Woodside, and other areas where folks offer their spacious land for doggies to play.
Thank you Sniffspot for keeping our dogs happy and healthy.

Forces you to buy a subscription
I’ve had this app for years and they just started making you buy their EXPENSIVE subscription to book a sniff spot. They have gotten greedy
SCAM! Do not join!
I canceled within the free trial period and they still charged my debit card $192. Thank goodness I didn’t have that much available, but it still triggered a fraud alert, froze my account and it was a huge hassle to sort it out. Just days after getting it resolved, they did it AGAIN. I tried to contact sniffspot before writing this review, but apparently you need to have an active account to reach customer support. Scam scam scam. Stay far away from sniffspot.

Be wary of "free"
They don't warn you when the free trial ends regardless of if you choose to be notified or not, not a fan of that.
They did refund me without much pushback, though.

Misleading
This app should definitely be under review for fraud. I have the screenshot as well where it says for $16 a month it provides 64 credits a month, but if you agree and do the free membership, it changes to much less requiring you to purchase the most expensive package at $60 a month. It’s preselected and very misleading without telling you before gaining the free trial. Poorly made app and fraudulent advertising meant to deny you from discerning the properly selected option.

Unable to log in
I have over 60 credits and I’m unable to log in. Probably would be good to use this app if it was working. Fix this please
Maximum options
This is a fantastic app for finding safe private dog spaces for your pet. There’s no end to what you can do when you don’t have to worry about noisy traffic or a possible aggressive dog. You can do agility training, let them swim in creeks, or just go for a long walk in a forest. It is truly relaxing and fun for your dog. One thing you always notice about the pictures is the glint of happiness in the dogs’ eyes. Even if it’s only a smaller backyard. They love getting out. Truly a wonderful app.

Scam
The credits you **purchase** (with real money) “expire” if you cancel your membership. So, if you have 100 saved up and cancel because you just don’t need to keep accumulating any more, those will all conveniently disappear from your account. You have to keep buying them even if you aren’t using them fast enough. Should be illegal if it isn’t already.
