SoilIQ 2.5.3: Warm Enough Is Not Enough Time Until now, PlantAI called a crop ready when your soil was warm enough today. It never asked whether enough season remained for that crop to finish before frost. Now it does. Several other places where the app assumed what season, or what place, it was in have been corrected too. What's new: - PlantAI checks whether enough season is left, using your location's own frost record and the next two weeks of forecast. Expect fewer crops than before, and a bigger drop the shorter your season. That is the check working. - Every crop says what it expects: ready now, a partial pick before frost, or a warm autumn finishes it and a cool one may not. - Pre-emergent timing now knows which way the soil is moving. It was a temperature band and nothing else, so autumn soil falling back through the spring range reopened a window that closed in June. - The app can no longer recommend overseeding and pre-emergent on the same day. Pre-emergent stops seed germinating, and until now both could appear together. - Field and forage crops have left home garden recommendations. Sorghum, millet, alfalfa and the lawn grasses now sit in their own section or in LawnIQ. - A location that has never recorded a frost no longer gets a made up frost date. - A region is no longer treated as a point. Searching a state saved its centre and read the soil there. Fixes and improvements: - The planting window card recommended crops the app had already ruled out, offering tomatoes at a mountain location in August while the count below it correctly said no. - Two things on one screen both said Ready Now and gave different numbers. - Crops with no picture showed a plain green circle, and every lawn grass showed a golfer. - Pre-emergent timing had two separate rule sets that disagreed with each other between 58 and 67 degrees. - The floating PlantAI and LawnIQ control let crop names show through it, so two lines of text collided and neither could be read.
