It’s OK

I really like the interface. It’s convenient. But the data is lagging.

Response from developer

Sometimes during high demand (when a major solar event is happening), some data from NASA and JPL services can be a laggy. That's unfortunately true. I have a few ideas on how to improve this and I'll try to implement these features in the next major release. Thanks for your feedback.

Very cool

This app seems pretty good. Would love to be able to save hi-res images of the sun from it.

Response from developer

Thanks! I’ve been thinking about adding image export but the main challenge is that there are a lot of images (around 360!), so I need to figure out the best way. For now, you can export videos, including all SUVI wavelengths, the three coronagraphs (a fourth one is coming soon!), and the aurora probability for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Really appreciate your feedback - it definitely helps!

Not reliable!

Normally during quiet solar events, this application function very well. BUT durian this recent solar extensive activities during the weeks from January 5 2026 to present January 20, 2026 this application freezes, frequently crash back to the device main page, all frustrating from any features selected in this app.
UNRELIABLE!

Thank you for your feedback and I sincerely apologize. The crashes were caused by a memory management issue that appeared after increased the resolution and amount of imagery in data feeds. The app wasn't handling this larger dataset efficiently, which led to crashes (actually it was termination by iOS, not a real crash) regardless of solar activity levels. I've just released version 1.12.2 which includes a complete rewrite of the memory management system. Please update to the latest version — the app should now work smoothly. I truly appreciate your patience and honest feedback. It helps me make Solar Weather better for everyone.

Crashing

Needs work

Response from developer

Really sorry you're experiencing this. Recent iOS updates changed how the system manages memory and because Solar Weather loads large amounts of image data, iOS is terminating app when memory gets too high. So technically this is not a crash, it's a "memory termination" and I wasn't receiving crash reports or stack traces - it took me some time to detect and identify what was causing it. I'm working on optimisation to fix this ASAP - it's my top priority. UPD: The problem was solved in v1.12.2

Fantastic!

I previously used a different solar weather app that was clunky and difficult to navigate, but this app is a breath of fresh air! Its modern, sleek interface, combined with the seamless integration of solar videos, makes it an absolute pleasure to use. The only feature I’d love to see added is notifications for significant or large solar events.

Thanks for your feedback! I've just released new version 1.5 - now you can enable push notification and customize it for solar events.
