Sophos OTP

It is RFC compliant and works with more vendors than the Google version.

Straightforward

Pretty straightforward app. The improvements I would like to see: 1) Graphical countdown indicator. 2) Ability to group the digits for improved readability (e.g., ### ###). 3) Apple Watch, app as I’m often without my phone.

Unable to scan QR code

Hi development team, my iPhone SE unable to scan the QR code, but my ipad works. Could you look into this issue? Thanks!

Small bug

Great little app that works with other accounts (not just Sophos). However, I think the new v1.4.1 has introduced a small bug on phones with smaller screens (iPhone 5). The count down expiration timer to the right of the pin code has disappeared. I discovered if you rotate the phone into landscape mode it comes back so I think it is just pushed off the edge of the screen while viewing in portrait mode.

Thank you for the valuable feedback! The next version will address this bug.

Sophos makes excellent products

This app does exactly what it’s supposed to do without cloud sync and completely offline (a good thing).
Four stars because I’d like to see the ability to lock the app with a PIN.
I’ve used Sophos products for 10 years. Great stuff.

Simple Authenticator

It does what it’s supposed to do.

Shady App

Downloaded then tricked into purchase! Do not download this app! Link to developer is bogus and told to close page because it’s trying to steal my information! Contact Apple immediately!

Response from developer

There must be a misunderstanding, since there is no purchase to be made - the app is free. There is also no bogus page that tries to steal credentials.

I've used this for several years

Two factor authentication is a way to protect your account from hackers. Sites that use 2FA need both your password and the 6-digit code generated by your authentication app. This 6-digit code is generated every 30 seconds, thereby making it difficult for people to hack into your account.

Most apps don't store codes on the cloud (a good thing), so the algorithm that creates the code is lost when you switch devices (an annoying thing).

The solution is to use two devices to scan the same QR code. Sophos Authenticator is a universal app, and I have it on both my iPhone and iPad. When I set up my site for 2FA, I make sure I have both devices.

Sophos has been around for decades, and I've never had an issue in using their authenticator app.
