Excellent free authenticator with rare desktop support

We’ve been using Zoho OneAuth for about two years, and it has been excellent. One of its biggest strengths is desktop 2FA support, which is surprisingly rare when most authenticator tools focus only on mobile apps. That has made a real difference in day-to-day use. It’s also simply impressive as a free tool: reliable, practical, and well worth trying. We also appreciate Zoho as a company and respect its broader mission, especially its efforts to build opportunities outside major cities and help young people from smaller towns enter the tech world.

The app does have a bit of a learning curve at first, especially the UI, but it’s worth the initial effort. We also make it a point to back up our codes every month or so from a mobile device to secure storage, which we’d recommend as a good habit anyway. One small frustration is its integration as an Apple-authorized provider for Verification Codes in AutoFill & Passwords on iOS; whether that issue is with the app or with Apple’s feature itself, it rarely works reliably for us. Even with those drawbacks, we would highly recommend OneAuth to anyone willing to invest a little time upfront.
