It glitches.
It glitches a lot. Tells me I have more than I do. And doesn’t update purchases or anything as fast as it should. Bills wwnt out days ago and I have receipts but the app doesn’t tell me it has.

Mobile Deposit Issues
The absolute worst mobile deposit I have ever used. Cannot focus the camera, every image will come out blurry. It’s a one in fifty shot you will be able to make a deposit through the app. This has been an issue for a year and a half now and it’s a waste of my time and the clerks at the bank when I explain to them what has happened. Seriously, make it to where we can focus the camera for a clear picture; this is asinine for a bank to struggle with.

Site maintenance
If they are doing maintenance on the site you can literally not do anything. In 2025 the fact that I can’t do something as simple as check my balance while the site is being updated blows my mind.
Followed advice to update…?
Followed advice to go to App Store to update, it sent me back to the ADVICE to UPDATE, 3 times I tried, no luck, bah humbug!
No longer works on my iPad iOS 15.8 🥲
I have not been able to use the app since it requires iOS 16 now. I have no other reason to upgrade my iPad 🥲
Old phone
I have an iPhone 6s+ and it is too old to download the app/update and I will NOT buy another/new phone just to have Southside Bank unless Southside Bank wants to pay for a new phone!
App constantly forgets login info
The app would not let me login due to it “updating” however the App Store says it has not been updated in 4 weeks. I have had to inconvenience myself multiple times last year to change my password because the app is very low quality.
Mobile Deposit Issues
Great app until an update this last year where you cannot focus the camera when making mobile deposits. Additionally I’ve yet to successfully deposit a check with the new system where you have to write “For Mobile Deposit Only for Southside Bank” even with my girlfriend printing it out that specific part.

It’s a pretty good app. It does what you need. Like all big banks it is a trade off. I hate that it will not let you reuse nicknames. Takes way too long to get one not used. As most things today it does what “they” want it to do and need it to do. It is certainly nothing special, the bank either. I would not recommend the bank or the app, but am too lazy to move to a smaller, more home town local bank like used to be.
In 2024 I will say the same thing. I am just too lazy to change banks. SS is nothing special, but is adequate.
