Money pit

Spent $300 on a watch. Then put mobile phone sim in but watch doesn’t connect to app. Have been charged in advance $9 per month for a subscription so that I could apparently connect the watch to the app but that doesn’t work. This is an unbelievable waste of money so will take back to the shop tomorrow for refund - a bit annoyed in the hour lost trying to get setup as well as the subscription fee which I won’t get back which was totally useless. Don’t bother buying this product- you may as well buy an Apple Watch (which I never thought I’d say)

Terrible app and hardware

Huge lags and inaccuracy in location tracking. Ability to actually remove, disable all the various functionalities of the watch for your kids doesn’t work. Genuinely couldn’t be more disappointed with this purchase.
Save yourself the many hours and messing about with buggy software, and painfully cheap hardware, just get an Apple Watch SE and use the reliable and easy to setup child/ family settings.
It actually works - unlike this garbage.

Hard to use not accurate

This is a nightmare to use the app is horrific! Support is pathetic watch itself is not kid friendly I had better experience with a $50 amazon watch. Should have stuck with that instead of paying over $300 for the watch and Spacetalk subscription!

Spacetalk app

Don’t like it at all, so confusing and clunky.

Complete FAILURE as a safety device

My child’s Spacetalk watch was stolen. It was then factory reset, and I have since been informed by Spacetalk that a factory reset can be done by anyone holding the physical watch. This wiped all data from the app, including the information I needed most — the location history/last known location.

For a product marketed as a child safety GPS watch, this is a serious failure. If someone can simply reset the watch and remove the tracking data, then it does not provide the safety or GPS reliability parents are paying for.

Spacetalk’s customer service has also been extremely poor. I received weeks of repetitive, scripted responses with no clear answers, no proper escalation, and no useful technical explanation.

I would not recommend this product to any parent relying on it for child safety or location tracking.

Faults

We started with the Loop couple of years ago and now that’s useless since it only worked on 3G, we bought the adventurer and I’m definitely not liking it anymore. It tells me my child is at different location when she’s at home… it doesn’t give me her location updates on time. Definitely not liking the new updated app version! Keeps showing I have one notification on the app but there’s nothing, I’ve uninstalled and installed and still showing the notification.

Very good

We bought the adventure 2 and it served us many years it still works great today

Do not recommend using Spacetalk

Terrible customer service. They made it incredibly difficult to cancel and wouldn’t refund a service I could not use. And the app is terrible to use.

Change of terms May 2026

Buying the watch is now a waste of time and money. They have changed the terms so there is no longer a light option to use the app. It’s made the watch useless with out a subscription. DO NOT GET THIS.

Average product and terrible support.

I bought two adventurer watches for my kids. The response time on the watch is slow and the chargers don’t latch onto the charging plate securely so often don’t charge. The framework of space in the watch is confusing and the notifications often don’t work due to data synch issues. Customer support provides no meaningful troubleshooting steps or resolution but either ask to turn the features off rather than fixing the root cause of use agentic ai to send templated follow up messages of force closure without checking the case records. I deeply regret choosing this product and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The wonder watch!

Love it, great way to communicate!

Absolutely rubbish

Extremely expensive, glitchy and unsafe. Do not waste your money. I spent a whole week arguing with bots trying to get support. The grudgingly offered a replacement watch but I’m convinced it’s not a hardware problem, it’s their rotten app.
They kept telling me I needed to unlock the device so I could use a Telstra SIM even though I’d used it successfully for nearly a year. Absolutely pathetic service. I’m furious.

Signs out

Constantly signs me out of the app and has me to put in a phone number and code to access the app. Also updated and made the layout so hard to understand and add new contacts to my sister’s watch. Sometimes takes around ten times for the call or message to go through to my sisters watch as well

Terrible treatment of existing customers

Had a Spacetalk watch since 2020, which 2 kids have used as they’ve grown up, but apparently it’s now unsupported and cannot be connected to the app anymore. Still works as a phone but can no longer track position, use geo-fencing and update authorised phone numbers etc. What a way to treat loyal customers. No discount offered on a new watch, basically cut-off as a customer. Think carefully before committing money to this brand.

SIM card not working

A brand new watch purchased today with SIM card already in it. Needed it for use the next day. Discovered from this company that it was “quarantined” which is why I could not activate it. No suggestion to resolve issue- was directed to “buy a new SIM card”.

Ridiculous redesign

I don’t need to log in to the app every single day. The only purpose is to get notifications for what happened to my kids

Stop logging me out every few days! Ridiculous! It’s not a social network and stop trying to make it into one. Exactly zero person in the planet wants it to become one.

Also I cannot check what’s the blocked sms is about in notifications which make it more useless than before the resdesign

Service failure

Absolutely shocked by my experience attempting to port my number to Spacetalk, What should have taken a maximum of two days turned into an eight-day service outage.

* **Service Failure:**
My number transfer from Telstra was accepted, and my Telstra service was disconnected on March 31st. However, Spacetalk failed to provide a working eSIM until April 8th.

I was repeatedly instructed by multiple agents to "retry the porting process". This was impossible because I was unable to receive the required 6-digit verification PIN via SMS on my disconnected phone number.

* **Customer Service Chaos:**
I had to explain my urgent situation to numerous different support agents (including Sam, Dale, Harper, John, Gab, Chloe, Zoey, Roxy, Maria, Kai, and Geline), who often gave conflicting instructions, cancelled, and refunded my requests.

* **Severe Financial Impact:**
I drive for Uber for my living, and this eight-day outage prevented me from working and supporting my family. I estimate I lost approximately $1,600 in income during this disruption.

I formally requested $1,000 worth of service credit to compensate for the significant financial loss and hassle. Spacetalk’s offer of just two months of complimentary watch plans is completely inadequate for the stress and financial damage caused.

My compensation request is still pending review. If you are considering Spacetalk, beware of this level of technical failure and customer service nightmare.

Cannot recommend anymore

We’ve been using Spacetalk since 2021 and it used to be fantastic, but the new watch and updated app is terrible - complicated, confusing, glitches constantly, and is almost useless. All we can do is call our son from our phone but he can’t call us, and since they introduced the new “Create New Space” feature, it’s been terrible. Our daughter isn’t able to join our “Space” (it continually says verification failed), it’s slow or doesn’t update our sons location (even when we specifically request it), and the app has my husband listed on my “Space” but he can’t access anything. Forget this watch altogether and find another brand.!! Such a shame as it was once terrific.

Poor app performance. Watch unstable

We’re up to our second watch - mainly as the first one ended up in the pool. The current watch is 18 months old and we’ve noticed a range of things that really renders the whole platform and product experience quite poor.
Battery power - 10h. It does very little processing power so this is poor in comparison to competitor products.
The app is incredibly poor. UX is confusing. The app constantly crashes. Maps are inaccurate. The app’s poor build is its biggest downfall and causes a lot of frustration.
The watch itself can become unstable so that inbound calls are not connected. I do not recommend this product.

Wow

I got the adventure 2 for my son and all I can say is wow, I am surprised how easy it is to stay in contact with my son. Five stars
