Phenomenal for learning!
I recently picked up the app for a language class and this helped me a lot throughout the year! I totally recommend for trying to learn a new language!!

It's like as soon I got to 70 days, everything went wrong. it erased all my progress from the first course. Stating that I have to do them all over again or buy premium. bad app

Misleading ads
Hoping to learn Hindi and Spanish, the app preview says Hindi is offered… it is not and neither are like 10 other languages they list. Waste.

I was so excited to continue learning Spanish with this app, but little did I know after one unit it makes you stop because you have to pay, like how stupid is that? But the one unit I did was amazing I was super excited that I finally found a free Spanish app other than Duolingo but turns out it wasn’t free. So at least make a few more things free because it’s really deterring people from using your app.

Wow!!!
By far the best language app I’ve tried. Unlike Duolingo or other apps, it really gets me speaking and not just learning how to order things or how to talk to a doctor😂😂
Pretty great!
The material itself is great for either a new language learner, or someone who is reviewing for upcoming travel. I am having exceptional difficulty with the app actually hearing when I speak, whether it be just on my phone, my AirPods, or my car microphone. Frequently it just doesn’t register that I’m even speaking into a microphone, which is frustrating. That’s the only issue that I’m having with the app. Other than that, it’s great!

Often doesn’t recognize my voice
EDIT: I am so frustrated with this app not recognizing what I am saying even though I am pronouncing the phrases correctly. The AI used in this app is bad a lot of the time. I just removed 2 stars from my review. I’ve paid for a one year subscription and it’s stopped hearing my voice. I’m very close to deleting this app.

EDIT: I worked with support team and got this mostly resolved so it works about 85% of the time. I’m satisfied enough that I will keep the app as I like the approach to learning, but leaving off 1 star until speech recognition is better.

In the first lesson alone, it got stuck halfway through and couldn’t hear my voice on even single word exercises. I really want this to work for me so please let me know if there is something I can do to fix this problem! I’m speaking in a normal voice in a quiet place. Help!

It’s so interactive you feel like you are actually in a conversation with someone.

Speak is great! It’s helping me a lot with my Japanese speaking skills, but I just wish it went a little slower and taught us the words better. But overall, great!
No Reinforcement of Previous Material
I generally appreciate the approach of this app, but it does not come back to previously learned material for reinforcement. Research about learning shows that retention will be limited without returning to content. This feels like a very significant design flaw. The learning content should be iterative and continuously reinforce what we have learned. Now I have an expensive subscription for an app that will only serve to help me pronounce Spanish better, but won’t help me remember the actual language.

Are you joking?
Very first lesson. “Nice to meet you”! Great, cool. Hey, I wonder what mucho actually translates to? Software says “nice”. Be so for real. If you can’t get basic vocabulary right, I’m not using this app.
Fun and different
Been wanting to learn for a while and I know it’s quite integrated in AI. But makes it more realistic to become conversational than Duolingo or other apps
Rushes through lessons
App just pushes through lessons without giving enough time to try to get the answers. I’m literally "passing" lessons by getting 100% wrong. I can stare at a blank wall and learn just as much as this app is teaching me.

It’s no better than duolingo.
In the ads, all they do is advertise that it’s better than duolingo, which “sucks” (it does, don’t get me wrong) but this app is no better at all. All they have you do is talk to ai bots with ai voices, so it’s not authentic. If you attempted to learn spanish on this app, and then went to Mexico & attempted to speak…not a single local would take you seriously. The whole app is based on ai…the learning, the practice conversations, even the support chat. It’s terrible and it’s a lazy excuse for an app.
