Très belle application
J’utilise depuis deux jours et suis satisfait
Great language learning app!
This is probably the best language learning app I’ve used! And I’ve used all of them 😬 Palteca teaches in a way that makes sense to me. I love that they don’t teach you the translations in a traditional sense but you learn via imagery and context. I wish I found this app sooner!
Works great, but paywall everywhere
This is just so I remember this when I need it

Obnoxious attempt at getting your money
This app follows the same trite and exploitative trick so many others do. The idea is to make the sign up process so long that by the time you’ve answered the thousand questions about you and your history with Spanish and your goals and blah blah blah you will be so time-invested that when they ask you to pay for a subscription you’ll think “oh go on then I’ve been here 20 minutes I may as well pay for the first month and see”. Then you’ll find yourself in a near impossible scramble to cancel your subscription or otherwise if it’s easy enough they will just be banking on a small percentage of people simply forgetting to cancel to make their money. They have no interest in providing you a good service. The app will be basic and probably mostly AI generated. If they had any pride in the product their income model wouldn’t be based on tricking you. Do not download.

good app but...
good app but after 2 days you have to pay for everything.
Great until it wasn’t free.
It was a good app until I couldn’t pass the first lesson without a subscription.
Barely accessible without payment
Honestly this app would be amazing, one day in and Im already memorising new words. However you can only really access stuff by paying for premium. You can’t access new material or words without paying $90.00 a year (on sale). I don’t know if there are any other apps and even though 90 bucks a year Isnt to bad if you aren’t prepared to pay it maybe trying researching other solutions. I wish I could give it a higher ranking but I also wish they were open and just straight up said that there app is not free.

Good but expensive
I tried it but after few lessons you need to buy it and its extremely expensive. Its a good app but please do more free lessons.
Autobiography
Yall doing wayyy too much at the beginning! Why do yall have so many steps before im able to sign up?! I don’t care about other people’s reviews. I don’t care about the learning curse! Why do I have to skip through sooo many pages before I can sign up?! I’m at work trying to sign up and I’m just clicking and clicking and clicking! Like seriously! You make me want to do my actual job then continue.. why do I had to read a books worth of information before I can sign up ? Is it to discourage the lazy ones from continuing? Cause it worked. I’m so over it.

This is actually the best app if you want your Spanish to be amazing

I’ve tried so many other apps and none of them work like this one
More options
This is such a great way to learn, I would love to suggest more options e.g. I would love to learn Swahili this way xx
Very unique
I’ve never used an app like this. Every other app uses the same approach to teaching, but this Palteca is completely different. Its design is pretty simple but the content is very helpful.
Everyday it gives you learning tips to try to keep you motivated. Such as different ways to think about learning and support. Which I think is very kind.
Now onto the actual concept, it never actually tells you what the actual word means. This is good because it MAKES you think about the word. But, that also sometimes makes it confusing if they didn’t make it obvious what it means. Otherwise, it’s a very unique concept. It really helps you think in Spanish instead of just translating it for you.
I would highly recommend.

too much money
this app seems great, but you have to pay too much money for it and it is inaccessible if you can’t afford that. the app teaches you only simple things like ‘hola’ and then it is required to pay
Manque traduction
Manque les traductions. On nous « apprend » à prononcer, alors qu’on connaît même pas les mots…fin y a pas de traduction
I lo be this
Tbh is made me feel happy and comfortable and confident to learn
Wish the app didn’t become unusable after only a few lessons
I’ve been trying to find an alternative to a certain other (super popular) language app after it didn’t really work for me, and was so excited to find one that’s specifically designed for learning Spanish. I took Spanish classes from kindergarten through sophomore year of college, but it’s been nearly a decade since I took my last course and I’ve always wanted to push myself over the fluency threshold since I didn’t quite get there before.
Unfortunately, unlike the other language app, Palteca becomes unusable after a few lessons as you are barred from doing anything without paying for a subscription. As sad as I am to let it go, I’m not currently in a position to add onto my monthly costs in that way. Their response to other reviewers that the subscription is “only the price of a couple coffees per month” is honestly kind of disappointing (and a bit of an overused analogy at this point), as it seems like they aren’t accounting for the fact that a lot of folks have tons of expenses to keep up with and multiple $12-$15 monthly charges can add up VERY quickly.
I really wish the app developer had taken into consideration that they could still keep certain features behind a paywall while allowing people to continue using a very basic version of the app (e.g., letting users complete up to 2 free lessons/10 exercises per day and then charging a subscription fee if they want to do more). They could definitely still make money this way, as the app has a lot of potential and stands out from other alternatives on the market right now due to their methodology/lack of AI usage.
With the unaffordability that is so pervasive in virtually every aspect of life these days, I am disappointed that an app that otherwise may have had the ability to make Spanish accessible to a lot more people is locked behind yet another monthly/yearly subscription. I’d consider coming back someday if they ever offer a free version, but until then I’ll just keep searching for another alternative.

Best App for Learning Spanish
This is just a fun and exciting new twist on learning! If I had this back then, probably woulda known Spanish out of highschool till now. It not only gives you formal but it also gives you a more casual take on Spanish speakers. It’s comforting to know that I can be more confident in having causal conversation with my family and friends rather then sounding proper and formal all the time! I also love the history and story’s behind words, you can learn at your own pace 🙏🏼 13 bucks ain’t bad!

Pricey
Maybe this is the “better” way to learn Spanish, but it asks for money, which I won’t spend on an app. Duolingo has workarounds and ads so I don’t have to pay a dime.
