Perfect if setup right
This app and equipment has never let me down, and works absolutely amazingly. I don’t have a higher end model either. I believe the trick is more in how you setup the network (mine is a vpn direct connection). It’s actually amazing and the app is great. I don’t know if they’ve updated since the other reviews I’ve seen but I couldn’t disagree with them more.

Stay away from their app
Terrible,ablosulety terrible.We have a regular old cameras at our house that go with older app and I hate that app.Now my camera guy convinced me to install newer cameras on Speco Gray by selling me that this app is much better so I went for it,what a mistake.This app is better than the old one but is terrible anyways.It takes forever for the image to show up,it keeps circling trying to connect,and no it has nothing to do with the network,no matter where you are or how strong you signal is it does the same thing.Even when you double tap to switch from camera to camera,it’s circling,so annoying.I also noticed that it skips recording.I was replaying particular time in particular place and one camera had the incident recorder (from the worst angle) and another one did not but was pointing at the same spot.How come motion in that stop was not recorded,it skipped? My older surveillance system didn’t have that problem and I really lived my other iVMS-4500 app .

Something needs to be done about this app. It’s important to be able to use it but I have more frustrating times than not!
