stay away from v9.4.9
just after i made a very good review of the stability of v9.4.8, they came out with v9.4.9 which is IMO a disaster... Records get corrupted after a sync and i had to restore from backup... 😱
can't wait for them to fix the problem in v9.4.10 🙏🙏 please soon!!!

Much Better
I wrote a review 2 years ago when I first switched to SplashID 9 from version 8. I can say now that 9 has improved so much from back then. I wanted to write the new review as the product has gone through a number of improvements over the years. I still would recommend this tool to manage your passwords. It’s a life saver with all the different logins needed in today’s world. Thank you to the developers for continued improvements.

Poor programming. App is broken.
Since move from V.8, open is slow and local syncing often changes the title on one of my records and loses data in many.
Since latest update, record edits now get stuck saying the record hasn’t been saved when it actually has saved successfully. Must close down the app to escape the record edit function. Additionally, it keeps adding another Note to a record every time I edit a record rather than simply editing the note.
VERY BUGGY.

best update yet!
i have been using splashid since the very first versions and have been very successfully kept my passwords records in sync with my PCs and phones.
splashid 9 was a free upgrade for my lifetime subscription so i migrated.
i must admit the early updates were buggy but i persisted and it worked for my needs.
But the syncing between PC and iPhones was always buggy and sometimes takes many tries before it would sync, trying to find the other devices on my personal network... until the
latest 9.4.6 version. It works great and no issues so far and works flawlessly! Whatever you did with this version, please keep it up and don't break it 🙏🙏

THE WORST!!!
I have been a SplashId user/customer for many years. When SplashID Pro was announced I immediately signed up. PROBLEM - It doesn’t work. After multiple emails back and forth with the customer NON SERVICE, I can’t migrate my passwords. Thank goodness I kept the original SplashID program. Don’t buy this program. If the old SplashId program is still available, BUY THAT ONE. This program is a DISASTER!

Things going downhill
I’m a long-time user who recently upgraded to Pro 9. I had trouble with the sharing process and asked for help. And asked and asked. No response after daily requests for almost 2 weeks. Unable to resolve the issue combined with no family plan requiring every family member to buy a subscription led me to abandon the program after years of use. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Frustrating user experience
They clearly do not care about the user experience. I have a bunch of complaints about how frustrating it is to use.
Here are a few:
Every time I log in, it says I haven’t backed up. Ummm excuse me? That is your job as the app. I have a cloud account, do the thing. Like maybe wait a few seconds and check back and you will see the automated backup is running. But I have to have the world’s most useless alert pop up and make it harder to use the app.
I had to put in a 2FA code and it wouldn’t allow paste. Guess where the 2FA apps live? On the phone. Why not allow paste? Makes me want to turn 2FA off which is bad.

Don’t bother
I just pay for 1 year subscription but my status in the app is still free plan. Now I need to ask for the refund. Please do not make a mistake like I did.
V9 Getting Worse and Worse on Apple Platform
The programmers use Flutter and have not fixed the huge Cloud sync bug that I documented with the log output. Will be looking for other program maybe just using keychain. Will give one more point release to see if major app freeze cloud sync bug is fixed. Current bug makes workflow frustrating!

Crashing on Mac with IOS26
I used to love this App.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of bugs since the Pro 9 update. This is particularly bad on the Mac version. The Touch ID sign-in setting for instance keeps having to be re-enabled in the settings.
Lately, this does not even work properly on Mac. The app crashes, and has to be deleted and re-installed to start working again.
A support ticket and crash details was sent to them on 26th December 2025, they have acknowledge reception, but have not come up with a fix yet.

Great Little Program
I have used Splash ID back to the Palm days and have been a SID life member for years. I think some of the reviews here are very unfair. I use SID as well as Apple and Google PW managers and currently have unresolved errors syncing those programs and in in the case of the vaunted Apple PW, they are not syncing between devices - Mac and iOS / and between iPhone and iPads themselves … and this has been going on for years AND people are still having problems despite lacking support suggestions. I wish SID had in-person phone support 24 hours available (probably just a lack of resources of a small business) but other than that SID has been a lifesaver for me many times and I hope they continue for years to come. I am a big supporter.

I have used SplashID for as long as I I can remember. It continues to be a great value and I can share with family. Recommend 100%
Great Modern Update & Feel
Like most I’ve been using splash ID since the palm pilot days. I just updated from/ID 8 to 9 Pro and the interface is much more user-friendly, and it offer some great options that were not previously available. The latest update 9.4.1 has allowed for me to update my review to five stars. It is much faster and they seemed to have smashed quite a few bugs in the latest update.

SplashID works great now!
I have been using versions of Splash ID since the early 2000's on my computers, phones and mobile devices (android and Apple). Almost every upgrade works better than the last. Now with SplashID Pro 9 it is easier than ever. Put your data in and it is always at your fingertips. Login-Ins, passcodes, ID card info, insurance info, any private or important info one may need in the future is at your ready finger tips and easy to find. Also keeps copies of documents like car titles or special notes attached to specified files. Completely encrypted on one's device, in storage backup locations and in the cloud.
Note: If you don't save, for example, you user names and passwords that you may need in the future in this app... No password or personal information storage app will ever work for you.
Google, Microsoft, and Apple password storage are good, but all are limited to just passwords and are not easily accessible when you need them most when there is no phone signal or internet. Splash ID is always there when you need it and will work years in the future even if they go out of business because you can always use locally stored and encrypted data until you need to move it to another secure personal password and data storage program.

Love IT
I have been using this since the day of palm treo and on the android and now the iPhone it keeps getting better and better I love this thank you so much 😊
It’s Getting There…
I’ve been a SplashID user for years, most recently on version 8.4. It’s worked well for my 250+ passwords & serial numbers. I especially liked the ability to store purchase receipts with my serial numbers. The vendor has been nagging us to upgrade to Pro 9 lately. So I became a subscriber and signed up for their Cloud Sync service. The record conversion process did not go well. I spent an entire day trying various processes and eventually enlisted aid from Eve at Grok 4 Fast. She suggested that I use the manual export process using svid file format in batches of fifty records. That worked like a champ! Everything came across: all my field data and the attachments lined up perfectly. My desktop, iPhone, and the Cloud are all synced.

iPhone 17 compatible?
Initially no problem, but now Pro9 is freezing on the iPhone and restarting the phone is the only way to get Pro9 to start up and log in, then it freezes again? I like the product, have used it for years with the Classic predecessor, but this is really problematic
Not as bad as other reviewers suggest
I have used Splash ID since the Palm days and on various devices including the BlackBerries. Yes I can see the new Pro version is a little slow and has a different interface. But I got comfortable with it after a little getting used to. Importantly, the synch is better implemented than before and I don’t have to use my Mac as a middle man to synch my iphone and ipad.

After a buggy start it’s now excellent
I’ve been a user of Splash for many years now and it’s been a great App. Upgrading from 8 to 9 was seamless but you are always worried about ‘if it’s not broke then ..’ Syndrome. However, v9 is really powerful and excellent. Initially, syncing by wifi had some challenges but now the issue s have been resolved and it works well. Just need to ensure that your devices are both active on the same wifi network. It doesn’t function if your phone is using wifi but your desktop computer (apple iMac) is using ethernet to your router. So you need to toggle the computer to wifi to sync. Its a first rate App and I’d strongly recommend.

Sync not working anymore after the latest update
I have been using SplashID for years, also the version 8 prior to the current one. Local WiFi sync was always a bit more clunky than the old SplashID 8 version, but with the latest update it seems WiFi sync is not working anymore at all. The three devices I use (MacBook, iPhone and iPad) do not regognize each other anymore. Hope this gets fixed soon.
UPDATE OCTOBER 26
The latest update has fixed the sync issue. I am going back to 5 stars.
