OK, but non standard Mac app
Like many, have used SplashID since Palm days. I’m generally satisfied, I just wish they would use Mac standards in the app — cannot Hide (using cmd-H) or minimize (using cmd-M). Previous versions supported these actions. Why do I have to click on an Edit button to edit? Their attempt implementing their own web browser seems like a waste of time, does anyone actually use this? It does keep my records secure, the syncing seems flawless, works well on iOS and iPadOS.

Local Wifi Sync issues
Update: the issue I experienced below was fixed within a few days.
Can’t get windows desktop to sync with iPhone or iPad since the latest update. As someone else reported, it just spins and spins.

Local Wi-Fi sync broken now fixed
Version 9.4.11 worked fine but local Wi-Fi sync broken in version 9.5.0 released on 8/14/2026. Trying to sync just has both devices spinning endlessly. Wi-Fi sync still works on other devices still running version 9.4.11. In addition version 9.5.0 will not export the svid file. On PC it just spins and spins; on iOS it exports a zero Kb file. Using Windows 11 with latest updates and iOS 26.6. Seems every time there is an update Wi-Fi sync breaks 😢. Please fix promptly or figure out a way we can revert to earlier versions.

9.5 sync broken
New version has badly broken wifi sync and exporting backups on iOS, and now the Mac desktop version won’t load at all after changing the password although the same password works on iOS devices. They don’t appear to have a QA team but just release the app into the wild and let us all debug it with our highly secure and important data.

Sync broken with latest update
WiFi sync just won’t work after updating both phone and Mac mini to 9.5.0.

I’ve been using this for decades. Most of the negative reviews I see here are really just “change” related. “I used to do ___, now I have to do ____.” That’s just human nature. I’m proficient in the newer 9 version and haven’t had the sync or technical issues some complain about.

No technical support
Beware, If you purchase this app you will get no help if you have a problem. They have no phone number to call and you have to go through their process of submitting a support ticket and wait for an answer. I’ve submitted over 6 tickets and still have a non-working product. I purchased a lifetime subscription for all the updates and upgrades but my product stopped working and when I go into their support page it won’t let me log in.

They Broke the App
The Splash Safe app worked fine. Since going to SplashID Pro, cannot access records. This is a mess.
Don’t Bother
We’ve been using it for years and it’s always worked well. Now that we have to migrate to Pro 9 (even though we have a Lifetime Licenses my husband just cannot get his migration to work - unless we pay for it again! Absolute rubbish.
Very good app, the best for me
It is a very good app, I like 2 things
- possibility to customize fields and add as many as you want. So very flexible
- possibility to sync data over wifi with the desktop app on your notebook in order to backup. Your data is not in the cloud, much safer

stay away from v9.4.9
just after i made a very good review of the stability of v9.4.8, they came out with v9.4.9 which is IMO a disaster... Records get corrupted after a sync and i had to restore from backup... 😱

Much Better
I wrote a review 2 years ago when I first switched to SplashID 9 from version 8. I can say now that 9 has improved so much from back then. I wanted to write the new review as the product has gone through a number of improvements over the years. I still would recommend this tool to manage your passwords. It’s a life saver with all the different logins needed in today’s world. Thank you to the developers for continued improvements.

Poor programming. App is broken.
Since move from V.8, open is slow and local syncing often changes the title on one of my records and loses data in many.
Since latest update, record edits now get stuck saying the record hasn’t been saved when it actually has saved successfully. Must close down the app to escape the record edit function. Additionally, it keeps adding another Note to a record every time I edit a record rather than simply editing the note.

best update yet!
i have been using splashid since the very first versions and have been very successfully kept my passwords records in sync with my PCs and phones.
splashid 9 was a free upgrade for my lifetime subscription so i migrated.
i must admit the early updates were buggy but i persisted and it worked for my needs.
But the syncing between PC and iPhones was always buggy and sometimes takes many tries before it would sync, trying to find the other devices on my personal network... until the
latest 9.4.6 version. It works great and no issues so far and works flawlessly! Whatever you did with this version, please keep it up and don't break it 🙏🙏

THE WORST!!!
I have been a SplashId user/customer for many years. When SplashID Pro was announced I immediately signed up. PROBLEM - It doesn’t work. After multiple emails back and forth with the customer NON SERVICE, I can’t migrate my passwords. Thank goodness I kept the original SplashID program. Don’t buy this program. If the old SplashId program is still available, BUY THAT ONE. This program is a DISASTER!

Things going downhill
I’m a long-time user who recently upgraded to Pro 9. I had trouble with the sharing process and asked for help. And asked and asked. No response after daily requests for almost 2 weeks. Unable to resolve the issue combined with no family plan requiring every family member to buy a subscription led me to abandon the program after years of use. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Frustrating user experience
They clearly do not care about the user experience. I have a bunch of complaints about how frustrating it is to use.
Here are a few:
Every time I log in, it says I haven’t backed up. Ummm excuse me? That is your job as the app. I have a cloud account, do the thing. Like maybe wait a few seconds and check back and you will see the automated backup is running. But I have to have the world’s most useless alert pop up and make it harder to use the app.
I had to put in a 2FA code and it wouldn’t allow paste. Guess where the 2FA apps live? On the phone. Why not allow paste? Makes me want to turn 2FA off which is bad.

Don’t bother
I just pay for 1 year subscription but my status in the app is still free plan. Now I need to ask for the refund. Please do not make a mistake like I did.
