Crashes

I love using my Spot X in the backcountry and would like to use the Bluetooth pairing with my iPhone 15 (iOS 26) but can’t get this app to stop crashing. Reinstalled several times. Crashes before it will ever pair.

Awful

This app partially works but does not do what is its single most important requirement ie sync via Bluetooth the spotx device to settings etc on the user’s web account.

It simply doesn’t work. I have made a mistake in buying a SpotX device. My experience with this product has been awful.

Very useful

Its important to have spot x messenger as backup emergency communication device when we sail across the open ocean.

Sadly inadequate

You must have a cellular Internet connection with your cell phone to use this. It can not connect otherwise. So… what’s the point? Pass this by and get one of the others.

What does the SPOT X Bluetooth app do?

The app connects to your SPOT X satellite device to enable sending and receiving messages with any cell phone number or email address. It also allows you to set custom tracking intervals to share your location and progress, and provides a direct link to a 24/7 Search & Rescue center for emergencies.

How do I use the tracking features?

You can select from various tracking intervals, including 2½, 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes. This allows family, friends, or other adventurers to follow your progress in real-time using SPOT's Google Maps interface.

Is this app free to use?

The app itself is free to download and use. However, it requires a SPOT account with an active SPOT X satellite device, which involves a service plan. More information can be found on FindMeSPOT.com.

What happens in an emergency?

In case of an emergency, you can send an S.O.S. directly to the 24/7 Search & Rescue center through the app. You can then message back and forth to describe the nature of your emergency and receive confirmation when help is dispatched.
