The worst
I’m not usually prone to hyperbole but this app is utterly pathetic. I can’t watch 15 mins of tv on my Apple TV without it lagging or completely crashing altogether. Don’t even get me started on the recording. It will show as recorded, or recording. Then when you go to view it, poof! Disappeared. I went with Start because they had an app instead of a box available. Jokes on me. The app hasn’t been updated in months. It’s gotten even worse since the last AppleTV software update because there is no maintenance of the app. Just maddening. I’m going to end up dropping my other start.ca services because of this. It’s pathetic. This stuff shouldn’t be this hard

Picture freezes
Start watching a program and the picture will suddenly freeze. Change channels and go back and it still won’t load. Eventually it will tell you there’s an error. Changed channels to another program and it happens again. This is happening far too often anymore. I like the internet but not the tv. Might be time to look for something different

Hmmm… Canada ONLY??
I came to download this app for the purpose of watching one specific show…. PROVIDENCE!! and I see someone else is watching it too! @Lake2sea 😸 But now that I see all these negative reviews I don’t know if I should keep the download! Second question !! Is this the same app as the START TV app I see a couple apps above this one in the Apple Store? Do I need to have both of them installed?! Edit: BOOOOOO!!!🙀🙀😿😿😿 Had to reduce my star rating…Guess all this doesn’t even matter!! Just found out I have to live in Canada to even use this app! Oh well! (Just a little suggestion… maybe it should say “in Canada ONLY” somewhere right upfront so that people will know…. They actually advertise for this app in America…what’s the point of that?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️)

Video Does Not Play (April 22 2023)
Whatever was done in this last update completely bricked the app.
Takes twice as long to even load the home sceen, but even after waiting the channels will not play video.

No way to create an account
I can’t give a zero, but I would like to give it a zero because the app just wants you log in, but you can’t log in because you have not set up an account. There is no place on the app to create an account. Downloaded the app, but could not get into the app, so it is deleted now. Not cool Start TV

This app is a total waste of time! When you first open it up to either sign in or create an account . . . the is ONLY a SIGN IN possibility. There is no option to create or set up an account. And the is NO menu to explain how to set the app and account up—so you can actually use the app.
Misleading
Misleading. When I downloaded this app. I thought I was gonna be able to watch shows that I see for free on my TV with “antenna” not even cable. Well, I can’t watch anything. It looks like you have sign to a plan in smart TV in Canada. Just add that in your description because I wouldn’t have downloaded it if I knew that.

It works how???
We have Start TV as an OTA channel in my area and since Comet Tv is also an OTA and also streamable over online, l thought this Start TV app would allow it to stream online too. When the app opens it asks for user name and password. No info in the open app or at Apple apps store on how to use this. Question: Apple, why have you wasted my time having this app on site for install?

Doesn’t work
Always asks me to connect to my home wifi, which I am on (in my home), and will not play the channel.
START TV IS FREE OVER THE AIR
This app is terrible. It tries to make you "sign up" but you can't sign up. (?) Start TV is a free over the air TV channel in my area. Or you can watch it via the Start TV website - starttv.com

Stuck on the green start screen, deleted app and reinstalled but no luck. Contacted tech support and of course they said as far as they know there are no issues. Very disappointed with the entire Start.tv service, hopefully in time they will launch an updated app.
