Simple + sleek

Fantastic app! I am autistic and sometimes go nonverbal. This is the only app I’ve found that quickly and easily allows me to communicate and participate in conversations

Pretty good, but missing a few features to make it a daily disability aid

I love the simplicity, but there’s a few customisation options that could be added to make it much better and make it worth properly paying for.
- ability to save phrases without dismissing keyboard
- ability to customise the font display size (on tablets the max font can be unnecessarily disruptive)
- ability to customise the background and font colours
- alternative layouts for the saved phrases including folders for better categorisation
As it stands currently it’s one of the best visual aac tools under $20, even some of the really expensive ones don’t have an option to show the message as large text which makes them useless in quiet situations.
Hope there is further development here!

Big improvement from pen and paper!I use it on my iPhone

Are use Statement on my iPhone to talk to patients who are hard of hearing. It took me a while to figure out how to get rid of the watermark. I discovered that I need to type something before using the voice to text function, to get the watermark to disappear.
I would also like it if I could use it in horizontal mode, instead of just vertical. It is certainly easier than using paper and pencil, and the large size text is exactly what I needed. In the past I would go to Notes,But I still couldn’t get a font that was as large as what statement uses. My text has disappeared before my patient had a chance to read it on occasion. Someone else wrote that this is a glitch in the talk to text. It made me repeat what I said, but it was still way easier than writing!I really appreciate this app!

great app, bad follow thru.

love this app! i keep it on my home screen to communicate with customers who are hard of hearing because i dont know american sign language, and this is exponentially better than using paper or the notes app.

why the low score? to hopefully get some fast community feedback! do you know what is beyond asinine about this app? the clear button is TO god f u c k ing SENSITIVE. it doesnt check to see if thats what u want to do, its where the done button SHOULD be, and when you try to use text to speech, clicking the screen to get out the of active text to speech listening function CLEARS THE GODDAMN SCREEN.

any time i theoretically save by using this app is wasted by the inergonomic design of the keyboard and clear button. hoping this is an easy fix, xoxo.

Wonderful

I work in a nursing home with many hard of hearing patients. During covid times, nursing home staff has to wear a mask as well as a shield, making it even more difficult for the HOH to understand what we are saying. Statement allows me to type quickly what the resident is not understanding
