Steppa step
Great for fitness and motivation!
Serious Transparency Concern
During the challenge, I checked the participant list and accounts approximately 71–177 were showing 0 steps, while roughly the first 70 participants appeared to have completed the required goal. After the challenge ended, however, those same accounts appeared with exactly 3,000 steps and were included as winners.
I contacted support asking for an explanation but have not yet received a clear answer.
I am not claiming these are fake accounts because I have no way to verify that. However, when real money and prize pools are involved, participants should be able to clearly understand how steps are verified, why displayed step totals can change after a challenge, and exactly how the final number of winners and payouts are calculated.
The concept is great, but until there is more transparency around these discrepancies, I can’t confidently give the app a higher rating. I would be happy to update my review if Steppa provides a clear explanation or fixes the issue.

Not the Best If You Aren’t American
It’s disappointing this is the case, the app says coming soon to international bank transfers but the app shouldn’t even be available to international users if it isn’t ready yet to accept different currencies or have kore options for international users.

Slow / No service
Was promised “instant” payouts when using paypal but have received nothing after hours and have made many attempts to contact the team to no avail.

Hey Syon, Thank you for the honest feedback. The AI chat bot is a new feature that still has some quirks we are trying to fix. With a small support team, there is only so much we can handle everyday. Emails sent to our support team are answered everyday, and PayPal payouts are sent everyday as well. If there's something off with your payout, please reach out and we will try to resolve your problem as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate you giving Steppa a try.
How far will you go?
Scam, don’t be fooled

Hi Shepster, Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback. We are aware that on occasion, wearables like WHOOP do not automatically update steps in the app. We are working our best on a fix that will fix this for 100% of users. If a WHOOP wearable sync issue caused you to fail a challenge you shouldn't have, please reach out to our support email (support@playsteppa.com), and we will take a look and make things right. We are trying to improve the chatbot, as it is a new feature. Thank you for your patience. Just a heads up, on the reward side of things, the amount of extra money you win is based entirely on how many people fail the challenge. Steppa only charges a small fee on top of every entry thats only meant to covering processing fees. All money at the end of the challenge goes to the winners. Longer, more difficult challenges usually make it so the winners are rewarded more, compared to easier, short, and cheaper challenges. Again, thank you for taking the time to provide honest feedback. We are doing everything we can to improve Steppa for our users!
Yes motivational?!
Don’t bother
My biggest issue is that the rewards don’t seem proportional to the commitment. You can spend over a week or even multiple weeks remembering to hit your daily step goal, putting in hours of walking, only to end up making around $5-10 if most people finish. On the other hand, it only takes one missed day to lose all of the time and effort you’ve invested. The risk versus reward just doesn’t feel balanced.

Hey Diego, Thank you for the honest feedback and for the credit you gave the concept. On rewards, what finishers receive scales with how large the challenge is, so the bigger ones return noticeably more than the short, cheap ones. Steppa takes no percentage of that at all, just a small service fee on top of the entry that covers payment processing. On the missed day rule, we hear you that it stings, and it is intentional, because a challenge that forgives a missed day is not really a challenge. That said, feedback like yours is exactly what tells us where the balance is off, and we are looking hard at that curve right now. Either way, weeks of hitting your step goal is worth something on its own.
