So bad it’s impossible to even describe
Haven’t had the ‘pleasure’ of booking on the Ster Kinekor app or website for years, and as bad as I remember the experience to be, this is significantly worse. Possibly the worst online experience I’ve had in a decade. Nothing works, and it’s basically impossible to link a Vitality movie card number to book that way. This was clearly not tested before going live. Be better!

Terrible checkout experience
Can’t add more than one vitality card number at a time. Naming for payment method is confusing. “pay with another card tomorrow”?!

Payment Issue
The new grades are much better however on the app I was unable to process the payment and secure my tickets. After going through the entire process and going as far as selecting our snacks there was no further selection process to conclude the purchase . I had to go to the cinema and start the process all over again.

Can’t book.
There’s one main purpose that you guys advertise. Online booking. Well, you’ve completely failed your one job on the app and the website. NuMetro is doing way better than you guys. Get your story straight and make a decent app that actually works.
Horrible app
Unfortunately, the Steir Kinikor app falls short in almost every aspect. The interface feels amateurish and is quite challenging to navigate, resulting in a frustrating user experience. It appears to have been developed on a limited budget and was not thoroughly tested. Overall, it requires significant improvements before it can be considered user-friendly or professional.

I have tried adding my Edgars club number and my vitality number but if I do I don’t get the option to check out. This is frustrating as I had to do this at the Cinema and by the time I got there the movie was already sold out. Please fix this! It is the same if I try to book from my laptop in the browser.

Why does the app not show which cinemas are showing a certain movie? Also, what happened to favorite cinemas?. why can’t I save my Sthoko Club number and my Vitality numbers ? There are very few options available on this new app. It doesn’t work very well..

Pointless having an updated app that functions worse than what it replaced. Where in the world do you pay once you select your movie, insert loyalty options and choose combos…??? This new format is absolutely frustrating. Really puts a damper on wanting to go to the movies. Please fix these issues, make the app simpler to use instead of complicating it.

A Worse Update
Once again you’ve completely changed the app and only made things worse. This happened many years ago and it was incredibly frustrating and it’s happened again. The new app is far more limited. I cannot compare the showtimes of multiple cinemas easily. The app is overall much slower and clunky and poorly designed. It is in every conceivable way worse than the previous version. I cannot fathom why you’ve done this update. I can only assume some software developer had to justify their existence, well evidently they shouldn’t exist. And clearly this app wasn’t ever tested before being released. Last time this happened it took a long while before the app reached close to the same functionality of the original version. Can you please just go back to that original app from 2013. Why do you keep doing this? What is going on there? It was working fine, why ruin things? It doesn’t even seem that difficult of an app to make. Cinema is already dying and now you’re just strangling yourself to death. Why. Why. Why. Please Ster Kenikor. I want you to live.

Why worse?
You made a questionably functional app disfunctional. I mean why?! Just why?! I cannot even book a movie never mind struggle to get into the app every time I load it. Somehow this terrible app has been made worse, well done, you’ve done what no one needed and no one asked for.

Not intuitive, no clear indication which time slots are for IMAX, time banner at top feels like it blocks important information, when clicking the close icon, thinking you go one step back, it asks Are you sure? but does not explain what user must be sure of. Needs a lot of UX and user testing still.

Terrible User Interface
Navigating the app is difficult, some UI elements overlap others when you’re trying to book tickets. After booking tickets and paying for them, they didn’t show on the app, I had to close and reopen the app before I could see my tickets.
Terrible app
Slow, clunky and unable to use discovery vitality discount. Keep getting error messages. Beyond frustrating. Was this app beta tested before being released? Eventually decided to go to another cinema. Why go to Ster Kinekor if I’m paying full price?

Hi I’m not sure if the app is still being build or something but I am unable to purchase a ticket, after going through the flow there’s no button to take me to the payment system
Vitality numbers not auto saving any longer
Not very customer friendly having to enter my Vitality numbers each time. I preferred the old App where it was always stored for future purchases.

The loyalty number addition is not intuitive. I would reconfigure that.

Unable to Pay in App and Mobile Web
Downloaded the new app. The new UI looks way better. However I went through the flow of trying to purchase a ticket. Get to the point where it displays your Total, and there’s no way to proceed to actually pay. There’s no prompts nothing. I then tried in the browser on mobile (iPhone 16) and the same thing occurs. There’s either no payment button being displayed or no button displayed to navigate to the payment screen
