User reviews

I’m old and I think it’s easy lol

Needed a way to extract quality images from videos and Stills is just what I needed. It’s great for monetized FB pages, they still pay well for photos. Highly recommend!

Simple, perhaps too simple

I genuinely like the app. An automation function would be a huge improvement. A frame skip/frame ratio would be stellar. But it is a good, simple app that does what it says it does. I’d just like to see some basic tweaks to get it to 5-stars.

Good.

Is there any way I can save it as a png and heic file?

Issue fixed, system picker?

Wow, thank you for fixing the slow video picker loading issue, and doing it quick. But I really wish the app just used the system picker, for consistency with other apps & the rest of the OS and so I could see my created folders grouping my albums.

Response from developer

(Latest Response) Hi ChasingGamey, Thank you so much for updating the Review & the Rating. It means a lot to me. I am glad I was able to fix it & make you happy. Regarding SytemPicker, I really understand your use case & you are absolutely correct. I will try to add it to Stills in future. But It's not added yet, because Stills need to import the whole video with all asset info in the app from Photo Library & If I use System Picker, with importing photos can be fine in some case (importing without any asset info). But for video the Stills app can't have that info & If Photo Library Permission are not given then other issues as well with. So To keep things simple & easy it's not added & the possibility of Stills getting all the video & related info gets affected with SystemPicker. But I will try to look into it again & see what are the possibilities & if any user still wishes to use System Picker, then have it in Settings & display message about few limitation also, so user is aware about it. I'm committed to improving Stills App with bug fixes & new & helpful features with each update. So, Thank you for being with Stills & me on this journey to make it simple & easy to save Photo from Video. Your feedback was very helpful & Thank you for being active & replying to the review. With this I can know that my fixes has reached you & you are happy with it. Feel free to reach out via mail at truemaulik@icloud.com if you need help with anything else. Thank You 🙂🙏🏼❤️ Regards Maulik (@truemaulik) (Response 1 (August 07, 2025)) Hi ChasingGamey, Thank you so much for taking your precious time to write a review on the App Store & sharing your feedback. Without your feedback, I would not have noticed this issue Video Picker was having with Large Photo Library. After reading your review on 06 August, I had started work on improving the Import using Video Picker & make it super fast. I have submitted the update (Stills 25.2) to Apple & is waiting for review. You should be able to use the app smoothly & use video picker without having the need to wait even for a second. And Yes the app will continue to be updated with fixes & improvements & is always going to be maintained, so that the users keep on having great experience using Stills App on the Apple App Store. Feel free to reach out via mail at truemaulik@icloud.com if you need help with anything else. Thank You 🙂🙏🏼❤️ Regards Maulik (@truemaulik)

Is this app being maintained still?

Video picker loading time is a very serious concern, especially for those with a large library. Mine takes 12 seconds. Please use the system picker. Thank you.
