Could be much better - doesn’t go quite far enough
Response from developer
Hello! Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate the suggestion and agree that having a dedicated way to track purchases you decided not to make—and the money saved—could be a great motivator. In the meantime, we do have a Budget Tracker feature located on the second tab of the app where you can record purchases and savings-related activity. While it’s not exactly the same as what you’ve described, it may help support some of those goals today. We’ll keep your feedback in mind as we continue improving the app. Thanks again for taking the time to share your ideas!
Worthless
Response from developer
Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry the app didn’t feel helpful for your situation. Our goal is to provide tools that may help users build healthier spending habits and become more mindful with purchases over time. The app does include one free feature outside of the subscription, the Impulse Buying Checklist, along with a free trial so users can explore the full experience before deciding whether it’s a good fit for them. We appreciate you giving the app a try and will continue improving the experience based on user feedback.
Free version? Don’t think so
Response from developer
Thanks for sharing your experience. We’re sorry this didn’t meet your expectations. The app is designed as a focused, ad-free tool for people committing to a No Spend challenge. We do offer a free impulse checklist and a free trial, so users can explore the app and decide if it’s a good fit before subscribing. Pricing is always shown clearly upfront, and there’s no obligation to continue. We’re a small independent team, and subscriptions help us maintain and improve the app over time. We understand this model won’t be right for everyone, and we appreciate the feedback.
Love it!
Have to Pay
What a joke.
Response from developer
We hear you — the irony isn’t lost on us. The subscription helps a small indie team keep the app running and improving without ads or data selling. Pricing is always optional and upfront. Thanks for sharing your take.
Perfect!
spend to save
Response from developer
Hi there! Our goal is to provide a tool that helps people build lasting habits around mindful spending and saving. The app includes free features like the Impulse Checklist, as well as a free trial so users can explore everything before subscribing. We appreciate your feedback — and the humor! It helps us continue improving and supporting smarter spending choices.
Great app!
Totally contradicts your point
Response from developer
We offer the impulse checklist at no charge and its ability to tally up totals and set a goal which is totally free. We also offer a free trial to experience the app before users make a purchase. As a developer we have to cover costs and expenses but overall we feel the tools included are worth the expense for users who want the tools to help create better spending habits.
Disappointed
Paid app… foolishness
Response from developer
We offer the impulse checklist as a free feature, and we provide a free trial for the other tools so you can explore them and decide if they meet your needs. Developing and maintaining an app requires significant resources, and the subscription helps us continue improving the app and creating features that can genuinely make a difference in your financial journey. We understand that it isn’t for everyone, but it’s an investment, and many choose to trust the app to support them along the way. The trial allows you to experience the full value of the app before making a commitment. Your review currently reflects a very narrow perspective, based on what you perceive as “worth it,” without having fully explored the app’s features through the trial. We encourage you to give the trial a chance, before leaving a review.
Too permissive and expensive
Response from developer
Hi StanleyB95, Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. We’ve improved the questionnaire to be more selective and along with a couple helpful tips. We also offer a free 7-day trial so you can explore all features and make confident spending decisions. Appreciate you helping us improve! —The Stop Impulse Buying Team

I do feel like a key item is missing though... It would be nice to have a “want” list that counts down how long you’ve been thinking about the purchase.
It would be satisfying to see the days tick by and possibly a notes section regarding the item you want to purchase. It would tie in well to the question “have you wanted it for at least two weeks?”.

Hello and Happy New Year! We are likewise excited for you to use the app. Great feedback on the want list/count down. This has been something on our radar. But with your feedback, we will see what we can do to move it forward sooner. If you'd like to email us at stopimpulsebuyingapp@gmail.com we could share some ideas and talk details. In the meantime, here's a few ways you can get started with the app! - On the main page - you can set a single goal. A northstar, if you will. ex. to save money, cut back on spending, pay off dept. -Also, if you're in a trial/subscribed you can start using the No Spend Tracker. This is a visual way you can track days you don't make an impulse purchase. -next time you go to the grocery, prepare a list (see our settings). We've added a fun and simple shopping list tool you can use and reuse. -Also, something brand new we just added is a Budget Tracker. Set an allowance, or simple record expenses. This is on the dashboard.
Useful app, with one big flaw…
The only (big) disadvantage is that it constantly pushes to pay £5 a month to access the majority of the features; this is the complete opposite of what the app is meant to be doing! I feel as though an app of this kind should be free to use, and not promoting spending more money in order to use it. In my opinion this is very hypocritical of what it is meant to be doing!
Response from developer
Hello, Thank you for your review and feedback! We’re so glad to hear you find our app to be a great tool. As an indie developer, balancing creation, maintenance, and support is always a challenge, but we’ve made the Impulse Checklist freely accessible to everyone. For those seeking even more value, we’ve built premium features to help users on their journey to reduce impulse spending and build better habits. We also offer a 7-day free trial and a more budget-friendly annual plan to ensure continued value for our users. Your support means a lot to us, and we hope the app continues to be helpful for you!
Stop impulse buying by spending $10/mo on this app
Response from developer
Give it a try before writing a full review based only on a surface level look at price—our free trial lets you test-drive the features to see how much it can really help. Think of it as a small investment in curbing those impulse buys. We offer both monthly and annual plans for flexibility, and yes, developing and publishing quality apps takes resources. We’re not forcing anyone to download, but we’re here to make saving easier (and maybe even a bit fun)!
You have to buy 🤦♀️
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify—users can access our free impulse buying questionnaire and explore the app before subscribing. We also offer a 7-day free trial to try out all features with no commitment. Since your review, we’ve added more tools like savings challenges, spending trackers, and smart reminders to help build better habits. Hope you’ll give it another go!
Laughably Useless
Response from developer
Impulse purchases are a serious challenge for many people, and we believe addressing them is important. Our goal is to help users curb impulse buying through practical strategies and tools. We provide a 7-day free trial so users can experience the tools our app offers before committing to a purchase. If you prefer searching online for free templates, that’s great. But if you’re looking for a convenient and simple app to help curb impulse purchases through savings tracking, challenges, checklists, and more, we encourage you to start the trial and see how it can benefit you.
