Makes the Web Usable Again

Thanks to this app, many annoying (and sometimes abusive) behaviors of many websites are now neutered, making them browsable again.

Take a bit of getting used to however, for those who aren’t afraid of web codes and understanding with a little trial and error, your efforts will be rewarded with far fewer pop ups!

Definitely worth buying

I’ve used this app exclusively. There are other apps that work similar but you’ll need multiple apps to do what what this app will do and they are not as good. This is the rolls Royce of safari extensions.

ratings nag

Posts an App Store ratings nag on the app interface. Have some respect for your paying customers.

Excellent

Extension works great and the developer is very responsive to fixing issues.Highly recommended!

Ótimo

Cumpre o que promete, recomendo.

Useful, but could use some helpful tweaks

I like the idea of this extension. The user interface could be cleaner. It could be easier to disable the extension on the current website with one click rather than first manually creating a profile. The menus and options are so extensive that it can be hard to know where things are and what’s enabled. Still, a helpful extension.

Response from developer

To clarify, it sounds like you're talking about the Firefox extension. The other web browsers don't require this process. Unfortunately, Firefox makes its own copy of the extension, so the extension doesn't update automatically when the StopTheMadness Pro Mac app updates.

YouTube Option Request

Great app! Maybe we could get an option to return the dislike count?

I feel better than before

Finally, some sanity in an ever maddening and overtly invasive world.

Everybody needs this.

Works as described

One-time payment, reliable, and regularly maintained with updates. The same app also works on both my phone and iPad

Excellent.

An immensely well-appointed app for which I have no criticism.

Absolutely strong work, developer.

Bravo!

Lunacy halted

Jeff Johnson is brilliant. Who else knows this much about Safari & chooses to be not just on the good side but to fight for our privacy. Thank you Mr. Jeff!

Active Dev

Rare to find apps that are nostalgic to the old days. One time app purchase. Continuous improvements. A dev that hates what the internet has become as much as the rest of us. 🫡

Fantastic

I’ve been using StopTheMadness for years. Love it. Can’t imagine not having it.

Quality of life improvement. Just makes the web easier to use. Less friction.

Love this app. Have used the classic version previously, and use the browser extension everywhere it's compatible. Dev is very responsive, and regularly updates app

By far my most used feature is probably the copy on hover. Right-clicking for copy isn't a huge inconvenience individually, but when you have to copy long lists of links or especially link titles, it's such a decrease in friction with this app.

Has other fantastic features such as hotkey protection (to stop websites stealing your key binds), right-click protection, a basic element viewer for those annoying sticky elements on mobile websites, bringing images to the front of the page for interaction, etc.

Most functions of the app can be replicated with userscripts, but this app provides a convenient "toolkit" that seamlessly removes so many little annoyances about the modern "thanks Google/Shopify now web standards are optional and everything is just an ugly, slow javascript animation" web

You stop the madness! 🛑😖

Over the past few days, I have installed Sink It for Reddit and X. And your applications. I personally think the disable scripts feature MUST be included in stop the madness. It’s so mad it’s not that way

👍

I bought them all to cheer them on

Please support us with updates for a long time

I'll be rooting for you. Fighting!

Please update me forever Plz~~👏

Couldn’t imagine browsing the web without it now

As the title says. So many quality of life enhancements that it’s a must to make browsing the web bearable again.

If I could use it on my PC as well I’d give it 6 out of 5 stars.

Fantastic!

It’s sad that this is so necessary, but we claw back a decent web any way we can

Phenomenal

I kept coming across this app on odd little list of apps that people found essential and thinking - wow, that sounds a lot of money to pay for an app that’ll probably fix a few geeky things about web browsing that I don’t notice anyway. Pleased to report that I was UTTERLY wrong and that this app is a work of broad-spectrum genius, devoted to giving you back control every time a web app feels like taking it from you. After using it for a month or two you start to forget just how much it solves and decomplicates about the daily experience of using the internet — then you use someone else’s computer for a few minutes and are reminded how creepingly demoralising the process without it can be. Worth every penny!
