When it works it’s great

The app has become really unstable lately. It just flashes when started, refusing to see my device until I manually disconnect and reconnect it on the device every time. The old CA app and mconnect work fine with it.

Sehr funktional

Gut aufgebaute, einfach zu bedienende App zur Steuerung meines Evo 150 SE

Worst ever

This may be the worst app I’ve ever used. It keeps disconnecting from the streamer. Adding anything to the queue is a nightmare. Very unreliable and not user friendly at all. Unfortunately have to return the streamer just because of the terrible app.

Great product.

I have a simple usage case in fairness: Not had any real issues. Do have one UI comment to make though - if you want to change the volume on a mxn10, you have to climb through several menus to get there. It can be a bit annoying. Perhaps a widget with volume control on it would be a good solution? Otherwise no real issues (a bit of a learning curve though, as should be expected) with the app.

Problem

Hello,

I am using a first-generation Cambridge Audio CXN (CXN V1) with the latest version of the StreamMagic app on iOS.

Every time I launch the StreamMagic app, I get the following message:

“Get one step closer to great sound. Complete a few quick steps to set up and update your device for maximum effect.”

The problem is that my CXN has already been fully configured and has been working for years. After I tap “Continue”, the message simply disappears and the app opens normally. There are no setup steps to complete. However, the exact same message appears again the next time I launch the app.

I have already tested the following:

I completely removed the old CA Connect app.
I changed the CXN name and several other device settings in StreamMagic. The changes were saved correctly and remained after closing and reopening the app.
I restored the original settings, and they were also saved correctly.
The CXN is discovered normally by StreamMagic and can be controlled without any problems.
The device firmware has always been updated directly from the CXN itself.
In StreamMagic, the firmware status is shown as “Unavailable”.
It therefore appears that the app correctly communicates with and stores settings for the CXN, but does not remember that the initial setup has already been completed.

Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue with CXN V1 and the current version of StreamMagic? If not, is there a recommended way to reset the app's setup/onboarding status without performing a factory reset on the CXN?

Thank you.

So bad that it prevents you from using the HiFi system

Couldn’t find or set up my new Evo One, even with all of the local network permissions and Bluetooth/WiFi on. Eventually, I was able to set it up through Apple’s AirPlay in system settings, but this app still couldn’t detect it.

After rebooting my phone a few times and leaving it to wait about 5 minutes it finally found it, but then doesn’t have the option to connect Spotify in the library section, meaning I still can’t actually play anything — and the device doesn’t show up in Spotify’s devices menu either.

I haven’t used an app quite this bad in a very long time

Bitrate of Stream? Nope.

I have a Wiim and an MXN10. I really like searching through radio stations on the Wiim because there are so many ways to filter your search. I can search genre and country and it even has a folder (in Vtuner) for high quality audio streams. The stream magic app is not very magical, alas. I type in House music in search and I get every radio station that has the word House in it. You can understand that not every station that has the word house in it plays House music. And vice versa. So let’s see some fairy dust sprinkled on this app to actually make it live up to its name. One should not have to do radio stream research outside the app. Abracadabra!

update breaks radio search

still works on old ios and new droid version but this one whiffs…. wasted hours until figured it out…. worked week before last…… love my streamer but your device interfaces are rather last century and you are long overdue to hire someone with game…. good fortunes and fidelity to you and all listeners

After updated apps keep crashing

After updated this app can’t input ip address,so the apps can’t find the 851N,. Now I can’t use iPad to control 85N.

Major bug in the latest version

Works fine except a major bug has creeped in that the play queue doesn’t show. Developer needs to get this fixed as a matter of urgency.

Issue resolved.

Version 4.3.2 successfully fixed the issue I was experiencing on the iPad. Thanks to the developers.

Please stop the bluetooth nagging!

Just updated and now *every* time I open the app it asks for Bluetooth “to connect to accessories”. This is super annoying - please can you add a facility to turn this prompt off. Otherwise, it’s still great!

Streamtragic

Just stopped working.
Have tried everything to get it connecting back to my MXN10 but no joy.
I can stream direct from Spotify but no access to radio stations and can’t switch off the MXN10 without actually pressing the button.
Disappointing from Cambridge Audio.

Problems on iPad

After the last update, everything is fine on the iPhone, but the player window doesn't work on the iPad!!

Qobuz bloqué trop souvent

L’accès à Qobuz fonctionne, mais certains morceaux ne peuvent pas être écoutés. Dernier en date « maybe this Time » par Orville Peck. J’utilise un MXN10.
