You learn new words, at least!
This is a really good way to increase your vocabulary! That said, there are more than a few times where one wonders if someone actually uses a certain word that ends in an “-iest” suffix or not; to make the word into a comparative, for example? I’m trying to not spoil some of the other grammatical forms that some words will take on occasion.
And one minor gripe is that the game won’t give you the points for using an American spelling of a word instead of the British spelling, like “realize” instead of “realise.” But that does add to the challenge, so it’s fair. There are some of those instances where the words are spelled quite differently between the two versions, and that is a little more frustrating.
At least all words have a definition that is readily available when one presses the “define word” button, although some of the obscure words are not always clearly defined, i.e., it uses the same word in the definition as the word you’re trying to get an explanation for!
Also used — and this is both good and bad — are scientific, botanical, geographical, and other words used in various specialty niches, which is where you can increase your vocabulary, and lose the game. But then the game isn’t much of a challenge, is it?
Five stars for layout and simplicity; four stars for some questionable word usages and variant spellings and sometimes wacky definitions.

The words are too obscure.
This game is incredibly difficult because the words aren’t just uncommon, they are positively obscure. Most are technical, scientific terms that are far from common knowledge. I don’t object to difficult words, but these border on impossible. The accompanying dictionary is no help. Most of the definitions use the same word in the definition!!!

Ridiculous words
This game uses words 99% of people have never heard of. For example hogfish. This is a cheap, boring game.

I really wanted to like this game. I was enjoying it with my 12 year. Unfortunately the words we keep getting are ridiculous. You cant guess them because they are most commonly used.
We have successful won and by guessing yet we have had to look up up 85% of the words. If hard new words are what your looking for. This is the game for you. If your looking to play, have fun, and teach a pre-teen. This game is ridiculous.

Learning new words everyday. Very informative. I enjoy playing Hangman. Keep your brain active . Dig deep into your memory to extract the correct word.
Challenging
This version is a very challenging version of hangman. The words are uncommon unless you work in a biology classroom, Medieval scriptorium or for Scrabble.
A Challenge but Fabulous!
This HANGMAN is very challenging but without taking the enjoyment out of it. I have to admit, the words are not all familiar to me, making it more an educated guess on some plays. I’m sure if you try it, you’ll enjoy this great game.

This is not your kids game of Hangman. It had to have been created for adults and has been one of my favorite games ever since I found it. Great game from Boy Howdy!
