Platform and stylist

I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled and will no longer use this platform.

I booked my appointment with impact.beauty on July 18 for a service scheduled on August 16. I canceled on August 1, giving more than two weeks’ notice. Despite the advance notice, this platform and the stylist refused to refund my deposit. Mind you no services has been performed.

It is unacceptable that your platform allows customers to lose their deposits even when they cancel well in advance. This policy appears to be deceptive and to protect the stylist while leaving the customer with no reasonable recourse.

Because of this experience, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sharing my honest experience through reviews. I hope your company reconsiders how these situations are handled so future customers are treated more fairly.

Go get Booksy

This app sucks the people on it are usually money hungry and some do not care if they push your appointment back or randomly cancel due to unprofessionalism you can also be restricted for nothing if they decide but you can’t anything whatsoever if it happens.

A.I. Usage for Human promo photos

I’ve been using styleseat for years now, and the most recent inclusion of the photos for “find pros by service” section has been inundated with strictly A.I. photos of human beings. This is extremely off putting and makes me uncomfortable given the fact that the sole purpose of this app is to connect REAL PEOPLE with REAL PEOPLE. We aren’t booking appointments to have services done by A.I. Nor does any normal human look like those images the app is trying to pass off as real. It’s odd and very disturbing.

Last-Minute Price Increase Without Notice!

I am updating my review after corresponding with StyleSeat's customer support.

I booked a hair takedown service that was listed at $72. Less than 24 hours before appointment, I checked the app and discovered the price had increased to $109.I received no notification that the price had changed.

In my opinion, once a customer books an appointment and accepts the quoted price, that price should be honored unless the customer is clearly notified and expressly agrees to the change. Customers should not have to repeatedly check their appointments to ensure the agreed-upon price has not changed.

Had I not reviewed my appointment before arriving, I could have been charged significantly more than the price originally accepted. That is not the level of pricing transparency 1 expect from an online booking platform.

Because of this experience, I canceled my appointment and booked with Booksy instead. Before confirming my appointment through Booksy, I verified with the stylist that the quoted service price was the price I would actually pay, with only the tip added. I was very pleased with the overall experience. The price remained exactly as quoted and was not changed at the last minute or the day before my appointment.

I also want to be fair and acknowledge that after I canceled my appointment, the stylist, Rashy Hair in East Windsor, New Jersey, promptly refunded my deposit, which / received on July 29, 2026. I appreciate her professionalism in resolving that matter.

However, my review is not about the stylist. It is about StyleSeat's Smart Pric policy, which allowed the price of my confirmed appointment to increase wit prior notice or my express consent. Although I received my refund, it does not change my concerns about the lack of pricing transparency or my belief that customers should be able to rely on the price they accepted when they booke their appointment.

I appreciate that Style Seat responded to my inquiry, but their responses focused on explaining and defending the Smart Pricing picy rather than addressing the fairness of allowing the price of a confirmed appointment to change after it had already been booked. Throughout our correspondence, I felt that my primary concern was never fully addressed.

Until this policy is changed so that confirmed appointment prices cannot be increased without the customer's explicit consent, I cannot recommend using StyleSeat. I hope the company revises its Smart Pricing policy so customers receive clear notice of any proposed price changes and have the opportunity to accept or decline them before their appointment.

Use to love!

Update again: Of course you invest millions into an app where , you the platform make millions off the STYLIST & Clients… Not sure why you needed to add in how much money you put in the platform…Even with all the millions invested somewhere along the way you’re missing the mark, IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON SAYING THIS! The reviews don’t lie either….”THAT BEING SAID”, it still doesn’t promise a seamless working app! As I said YOU DO MARK-CLIENTS AS IF YOU SENT THEM! I’ve sent my OWN CLIENTS TO BOOK AND STYLESEAT STILL MARKED THEM AS IF THEY SENT THEM. SO YOUR MEASURES ARE NOT ALWAYS CORRECT, also I’ve created tickets about this very same issue before and what do ya know!!! I had screenshots to prove it!!! So maybe get stronger measures because your platform does NOT ALWAYS SEND CLIENTS!
Update: So while I hear you saying that you have measures in place your measures aren’t always correct!! I’ve been on this platform for several years and you guys do in fact mark clients as if you sent them!! And most of the time you didn’t … why is that hard to believe? Ive even had a client to do a mock appointment just to see and it’s the same thing, Styleseat acted as if they found the client when I know for a fact that you didn’t…THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED, word of mouth and self promotion is a thing. You can’t possibly be that ignorant to think that stylist on your platform don’t send their own clients to book on there too…I’ve been on Styleseat for a while, and while it’s refreshing watching the new upgrades come in, and certain benefits that are included. With that being said, Styleseat does not promote enough! Although I don’t depend on Styleseat for clients, I promote myself as well. But you would think that by paying a subscription that they would promote more…I also don’t like that when you mark the client as “I know this client” Styleseat proceeds to say that (you brought this client) to me , which isn’t always true . I share my booking link and refer my clients to Styleseat but Styleseat will say they promoted and found the client for me! I am looking to try out a new booking app soon, the fees are to high as well, and tips are taken even tho Styleseat says that they don’t take them.

Hard to cancel

I downloaded and tried the app for a few minutes. It wasn’t what I thought it would be, yet I’m constantly getting hit for $1.00. There’s no way to stop it and you can’t call anyone

5 years later - same problems!

I last left a review for this app about 5 years ago and the problems highlighted still have not been resolved:

1) The app is biased towards Pros. Pros can charge late fees and even keep up to 50% of your appointment cost if you fail to cancel before the 24-hour mark of your appointment. When Pros don’t show up or running behind - that same expectation of respect for YOUR time doesn’t apply. There’s no discounts of penalties for them. Additionally, you STILL get charged the booking fee even if they refund the appointment fee.

2) StyleSeat tries to play both sides of the coin - they want to charge surge fees and booking fees yet when there are payment disputes they try to pawn you off onto your Pro like they are removed from the situation. The only problem is, StyleSeat is going to find very quickly this isn’t true because if a dispute is initiated for a charge like this booking fee for a cancelled appointment - that’s you on the line. And that’s you essentially ripping a client off for an appointment that never happened.

3) If had Pros cancel appointments without 24 hours notice and without even as much as a message or text message notice. There really does need to be a top down push from Style Seat on punctuality and professionalism - and I have WILD stories (plural) where Pros have been HOURS late to appointments or once where the Pro never even showed after HOURS only to message me she didn’t know she had an appointment that day and decided to cut her day short in the morning.

Update: latest update bricks the ability to even make appointments. A SMS verification text is now required - never mind I’ve had an account for over 10 years with no problems or need to verify. But StyleSeat stays looking for ways to screw customers, stylists and themselves over. I’m seeing why a lot of my Pros are leaving this platform for other booking apps. Now if only my barber would wake up. He probably has no idea this is even an issue but if he’s had a huge drop in business because no one can book ahead and multiple clients are bringing it up as a problem it won’t be long before he changes over too.

Options

I often book with my CC but prefer to pay in cash. However or with another payment method however style seat does not give me the option. And makes it difficult also for the stylist to correct it to. There have been a couple times where she got double paid. This method should be easier.

There is never anyone to actually help fix your problem

I’ve been using Style Seat for about two years. And in those two years, I have experienced some of the most infuriating exchanges with. I don’t know if it is bots or people. Last week I was locked out of my account simply because I changed my phone number and somewhere in their system. It did not change. Since then, I have saved, changed my notifications, a slew of other things that they advised me to do and I am still not receiving text messages from them, which tells me that it is not changed in their system. Upon speaking with someone after waiting hours.. They continued to give me the exact same message that said it shows it’s changed on your side. Please contact if you need any further assistance. It’s been showing changed on my side. It’s not changed on your side for some reason. But they just continue to repeat the message without resolving the problem. It is infuriating to pay you every month and not have some type of that actually helps when things go wrong. It is infuriating to pay you every month and not talk to a real person who is willing to fix a real problem with the way that we make our money every day.. It is infuriating to know that we are just a dollar.

Hot time!?

Best Haircut!

The first time since I was not disappointed in my haircut since I have been in Los Angeles

Worst Booking Site on the Market

From the excessive booking charges for high demand slots and having my account deactivated without my consent and prior knowledge, I will not and do not recommend this booking platform. I was signed out of my account and could no longer sign back in so I emailed the support desk and was directed in circles to no avail. My issue was not resolved and it was an issue the platform initiated! I was a client for several years. All these fees, updates and changes made by StyleSeat are nothing but inconveniences for clients. Take your money elsewhere. Don’t bother on this app/site.
