Killing my battery

It’s regressing!

Can’t link Garmin anymore, poor experience

The app crashes, the sensor stops reading, lost a few sensors due to bugs and customer service is poor.
There is no updates on the app and communication with customers even on discord mentioning that they are interested in fixing the know issues.
It used to work nicely, nowadays seems that there is no care about bugs and customer experience overall.
I like the product, like the concept, been using it for 2 years now and unfortunately I had to take the time to complaint here as it has been super disappointing.

Buggy app

App crashes constantly while adding events. Desperately needs an update

Supersapiens app freezes and crashes

I want this app to work and be fun to use. But mine freezes daily, routinely forgets input just after I type it in, and it sometimes crashes. Entering macronutrients is also not made easy, a good app would let you enter what you ate and calculate the macros for you. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I did not want the Glucose data so badly, I would bail out immediately. Using iOS 17.1.1 on iPhone 12 with karge memory.

Great device terrible app

The product is great. Amazing gains to be made and things to be learnt, but the app is incredibly frustrating. Entering meal/sleep/training information often needs to be done multiple times and even then it just disappears. App often freezes and generally is not that user friendly. That really needs to be fixed at the price. I haven’t yet figured out how to export data to training peaks either in a simple way. Does it even do this?

Super-buggy app

Lots don’t work on this. (1) the tutorials are old, and you constantly get a pop up to ask you to sign up for a “full guide”. Even when you do that it keeps popping up. (2) the integrations are flakey. Times are wrong and you can only edit if from AppleHealth. Any others are fixed. (3) try adding tags to an event. Each time you write them in, press done, the disappear! Again and again, then suddenly work. The link between the email you used to order or subscribe, and the one for the app isn’t clear. Do you need the same or not? The links on the website to your account don’t work if you’ve not got the same - but don’t work anyway either. Overall, this has had a total lack of recent investment to make it work, leading to a very annoying user experience which means you don’t bother tagging events, importing exercise to look at stats, and so only use the sensor readings. In which case, very little value add from SuperSapiens above any other off the shelf sensor you can buy from Libre.

Subpar App

- Keywords / hashtags are buggy and unintuitive: Need to enter a tag several times until it “sticks”
- No Apple watch apps or complications
- No widgets
- No options to export data
- Genuinely only useful feature is that it seems to display your current glucose level accurately

Bad quality of app and service

The app freezes an average of a groove per day. After a reboot, it loses contact with the sensor and needs to be registered again. All data for the freeze period is lost.

Bug that’s means I have to restart app

Can you please fix the bug that means it has to be restarted to complete logging a reason for a rush. It works fine for 24-36 hours and then gives up letting you log a reason.

Updated review

Supersapiens help desk got back to me and I have given the app a better rating now the data field is finally useable on my garmin edge. It was not enough to simply have the latest iOS, Supersapiens, and Garmin apps installed. I needed to delete and reinstall Garmin connect and Garmin iQ before the data field would show real time glucose levels. The Supersapiens app is much better suited to monitoring blood glucose during activities than the manufacturers Abbot Libre app. It’s intuitive and interpreted along with Garmin data it gives great insights into glucose control.

Anxious

While there is a lot of tutorial info/videos there should be examples of a normal glucose trace. Currently mine seems to be swinging all over the place, despite not eating sugary junk food, leaving me not a little anxious that I have a blood sugar disorder.

Great product, great data for training

This is great product & App, the user interface is clear, you can customize, the information is very useful as is the hints, and help menu. If you want to know about glucose levels , this is best product I have seen, they have even made extra patches to secure the glucose monitor to arm in very effective design. Congratulations Super Sapiens, this is a fabulous product!

What exactly are your brining to the table

Whilst I applaud the introduction of this tool. It’s a pretty slim overlay on Abbots CGM. The app is very poor for food tracking and entry for something you need to be doing it’s very bad. So literally all you are doing is CGM tracking and fuelling linked to training that’s poor. The competition are coming to eat your lunch. Customer support is also terrible. Had my first sensor it failed. Told to contact abbot so what exactly am I paying super for? Basically a sensor and a basic app. Let’s see what others do as more choices are coming this way fast.

Super unhappy

I am used to different fitness apps (Strava, FitBit, Apple Fitness, mapmyrun etc) I am also logging my macros to MyFitnessPal. So I thought trying the Libre Sense sensor and the Supersapiens app could be a great next experience and learn more about my glucose level changes depending on what I eat and when, my workout routine etc. I was so looking forward to the experiment and was ready to engage longer term. But I am highly disappointed both in the sensor and the app.
The first sensor I got fell off after 2 hours - despite I followed all instructions. Then I’ve got a replacement. That stayed on properly, even during swimming so I was actually already forgiving for the sensor itself. I’ve done CrossFit, yoga, dancing, cycling, swimming and it stayed on despite all the sweating and water.
BUT the app never synced automatically with the sensor. I work from home. My phone is pretty much in my 1m proximity all day long and it failed to sync regularly. Despite it showed the actual live glucose level it hasn’t shown the trend line just when I manually synced. The after day 2 I ended up having 1-4 hours gaps in my data so pretty much the app failed to provide the data to follow changes as trends.
Reached out to the support team and got lengthy instructions to pretty much reinstall, restart everything. Even if I followed their instructions the problem stayed so actually I just removed my sensor on day 10 as the data didn’t make sense as I could follow correlation due to lack of data.
Not to mention missing basic integration with apps like MyFitnessPal to connect macros

Great resource for all athletes

Has helped me to understand my fuelling better and I used the app throughout my 2000 mile run this summer the information was invaluable.

Could be a game changer for endurance performance

Some super interesting insights already with both pre workout fuelling and eating on the bike.

Really helping me understand timing and type of carbohydrates better before I train, which doesn’t always match up with what you’re ‘meant’ to do.

Looking forward to delve in to this further over the coming months 🤙

Your mileage may vary!

For me, SuperSapiens is the single most important thing I’ve ever done to improve my cycling, health and fitness.

It showed me that I do not need to fuel as conventional wisdom would dictate. I’m just different in terms of how my body works. So far 15% increase in threshold power, and feeling much better overall.

In the past I’ve tried everything, and had pro coaching. As per my title, you may have a different experience. This is the thing about SuperSapiens- we’re all different. It tells you what works for you in terms of fuelling. All the other best practice advice is just about what works for most other people.

Non stop problems

First sensor dint work at all
Second sensor died on the second day after a 30 min swim

Customer service doesn’t exist as they send you on a different company.

Classic great idea with wrong implementation. Unfortunately don’t recommend this at all

Wait a few years

Too many bugs.

A: The sensors don’t last, the stickers you stick over them are so badly made that the rubber piece tears away when you put a shirt on

B: I’ve had 6 sensors, and the last 2 have lasted 2 days before saying “sensor expired” I contacted support multiple times and they just tell me to email Abbott support and wait. I’ve heard nothing from them, and when I ask Supersapiens support, they just tell me to wait.

C: the variability between sensors is quite high. Baseline glucose is around 100 for one sensor, then the next one is over 140.

It’s showing a lot of promise, but at the high cost per sensor, the very very limited support and the variance in sensors Id wait until the bugs have been ironed out

Sensors can be a problem but app is great

After loads of issues with malfunctioning sensors I now have a sensor that works properly and can really see the value of the app. It collects, connects and interprets data in a really valuable and insightful way. Glucose scores for workouts are super useful and energy management is much more efficient when you can see how your body responds to fuel.

The sensors can still be a problem though, so hopefully Supersapiens will find a way to make them more reliable. Otherwise - great app!
