In dire need of an update!
The camera app needs updates to compete with other options. While the camera itself is good, the app’s functionality is lacking.
First, the text message notification doesn’t display a screenshot of the motion detected. Instead, it prompts users to click to view the screenshot. However, clicking on it takes users directly to the screenshot without providing a view button to access the recorded footage. Which means you have to go into the recorded footage and find it yourself. After the event has passed, other apps allow you to tap the notification with the screenshot and it takes you directly to the recorded footage. Not having these features creates a huge inconvenience.
Second, the app requires users to set a push notification interval, with the lowest option being one minute. This is restrictive and doesn’t consider the varying needs of users. Many other camera apps offer the option to set it at a zero interval. This is an additional inconvenience because I was visibly watching from my window and missed 3 notifications that I wanted and needed.
Another huge inconvenience.
In 2026, these features are standard.
Due to the absence of these essential features, I will be returning the cameras. I hope the app is updated soon, as that would make me reconsider purchasing them again.
