The use of pen pals has also been exceptional. Since they have memory, they remember the things you tell them and can ask you questions about them later. This helps you practice talking about yourself and having more natural conversations instead of just memorizing vocabulary or phrases. You also get to learn how a native speaker would actually communicate, which has made Spanish feel much more natural and practical for me.

Two years of Duolingo will have given you a great base, but that jump to actually holding a day to day conversation is a different skill entirely - so really glad Sylvi's helping you bridge it. Lovely to hear the penpals and the instant lessons off your own French are landing, and that the tailored plan fits around the time you've got. Amazing language learning app
The layout of the app is really simple and easy to use, paired with a really good penpal system which can make learning a language actually interesting and something you *want* to keep doing.
Already I’ve made more progress with natural conversational skills in the short time I’ve been using the app compared to something like Duolingo or Babbel.
Definitely check out this app if you are wanting to be more conversational and natural whilst learning a language!!!
