Endlich eine Sprachlern App, bei der ich wirklich dranbleibe

Ich habe wirklich schon sehr viele Sprachlern Apps ausprobiert, aber diese ist eine der wenigen, bei der ich tatsächlich dauerhaft drangeblieben bin. Spanischlernen macht damit einfach richtig Spaß und gleichzeitig habe ich das Gefühl, jeden Tag wirklich viel zu lernen, egal ob man gerade anfängt oder schon fortgeschritten ist. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass aus den eigenen Chats immer wieder passende Lektionen erstellt werden. Dadurch lernt man genau die Dinge, die man auch wirklich braucht und die zum eigenen Lernstand passen. Dazu kommt ein kleines, super sympathisches Team, das wirklich viel daran setzt, die App ständig weiterzuentwickeln und besser zu machen. Man merkt einfach, dass da viel Liebe und Arbeit drinsteckt 😊 Für mich definitiv eine der wenigen Sprachlern Apps, bei denen ich nicht nach ein paar Wochen wieder aufgehört habe und die ich wirklich gerne jeden Tag benutze.

Great to build fluency

I’m really glad I stumbled onto Sylvia following the recommendation of someone I saw on TikTok. I think what it does really well is help you learn in context.
Immersion is so key and I really love that you can speak to your penpals and get real time answers. For instance, when the World Cup was going on, I was supporting Spain and you know they’d be able to answer me and talk to me about the game which I thought was great. For me, those types of little nuances I think is a really good touch.

I’ve restarted my Spanish fluency journey. I was in another app which is more gamification than learning IMO and it didn’t really help me to retain the knowledge. whereas here, I feel like this is doing that a lot better and one of my biggest things was not being able to speak the language. now I feel like I’m getting tons better at doing that so I definitely recommend for anyone who just wants to get a lot of speaking practice and also be able to learn from their mistakes on the go. Sylvi also does this really well in terms of correcting you as you speak. You get a report at the end of the week which highlights your strengths and weaknesses which is good in just understanding your level progression from A1 -> C1 etc. the mini lessons of the day are cool, but would love a place where they’re stored so I can always go back to them as needed.

I haven’t used much of the social features but so far I’m liking my experience a lot. Word and phrases come to me faster which is a good sign.

The perfect app exists

Thank you for this app! It is the best thing I have tried in YEARS. I took spanish 7-12th grade and scored well enough on the AP exam to skip to Spanish 3 in college. That was 15 years ago and I'm determined to get back to my previous level of fluency so I can share that with my toddler and better connect with my roots. I am also hesitant to use AI; however, I believe this is a responsible and meaningful way it has been implemented. It has shown me where exactly I need to focus and how to go about that. That’s is the big thing other language apps miss. This picks up at exactly my level.

Klare Empfehlung!

Ich habe nun schon so einige Apps ausprobiert und habe daher einen sehr guten Vergleich! Bei Sylvi hatte ich bisher tatsächlich den besten Lernerfolg und habe es wirklich geschafft das Lernen von sogar zwei Sprachen in meinen doch sehr stressigen Alltag zu integrieren. Es fühlt sich überhaupt nicht wie lernen an und trotzdem merkt man irgendwann, dass man sich plötzlich schon richtig gut ausdrücken kann. Auch die gesamte Community dahinter ist wirklich bemüht die App noch weiter auszubauen und zu verbessern. Ich mach das nicht oft, aber diese App kann ich wirklich bedingungslos weiterempfehlen und sie ist auch preis-/leistungsmäßig absolut unschlagbar und jeden Cent wert!

Amazing language learning app

I’ve been studying Spanish for years now, but this app has helped me to improve my confidence when speaking, and has many different ways to practice, making it easy to come back to everyday. I love that it explains why something is wrong and even creates a lesson for you on that mistake so you can improve. I would highly recommend this app.

Sounds very good…

Unfortunately, the price isn’t well adjusted for Brazil…it doesn’t reflect our currency, so it ends up being too expensive in reais. And since the app isn’t very useful without a subscription, it becomes kind of obsolete.

Great tool to actually learn a language

I’ve been working on refreshing my French for a few years now. Though I’ve been able to get words down fairly well, spelling and grammar have always been a challenge. Until now. Sylvi is really helping me to better understand the why’s of the sentence structure and grammatical rules. I’m so happy to have been introduced!
The support team is top notch also!!!! Love it!

Truly love this app!

I downloaded this app a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it but took a hiatus from learning Spanish for a while. Now that I am back I truly love it even more! I love chatting with the updated pen pals who feel like chatting with a real person in terms of versatility of conversation. It challenges me to think outside the box and not repeat the same simple phrases over and over. Also, I really love that after a conversation it gives you a lesson tailored to the mistakes you made. I also appreciate being able to talk to Sylvi and ask questions at any time. I also like that there is a regular language lesson pathway that you can utilize as well. There are so many language learning options in this app and it is very insightful and user friendly. Also, the team behind it is very responsive and friendly. So excited for future developments!

A more effective learning experience

I have been learning Spanish for a while but am shy to practice with people plus don’t have a lot of opportunities. Being able to converse with an AI penpal has increased my confidence a lot. I learned more practical conversation skills in a week with this app than I did in years of Duolingo

Gut, mit Einschränkung

Ich teste gerade. Ich finde die App im Aufbau sehr gut. Ich finde es eher nervig, dass man das Gespräch nie Beginnen kann und dass der „penpal“ nur pro forma von sich erzählt. Das wäre interessanter wenn man etwas mehr sich austauschen könnte und auch mit Bezug auf das Gespräch davor etc. Und für eine App die KI basiert ist finde ich es schwach, dass man nicht auf Deutsch Erklärungen und Übersetzungen bekommen kann.

I truly love this app. Chatting with the pen pals is very interactive (and they keep getting better). You can have actual conversations and then receive little lessons when you said something wrong. I also really like reading the news articles in Italian. Although I’m in no means fluent, I’m starting to pick up on a lot of things. So much better than learning random word! 100% recommend!

My favorite way to practice with a busy schedule

Sylvi has become the best way to practice when I have a spare 5 minutes. As a mom with a full time job and 2 kids, picking up Spanish has had significant organizational overhead. Sylvi gives me a way to practice with real results, that fits into a busy schedule.

I love sending a message every so often to Sylvi throughout the day. The corrections have really increased my ability to sound natural in spoken lessons, and Sylvi’s penpals responses help facilitate conversations and topics I had never considered before. The weekly progress reports give me meaningful ways to practice the next week. Would recommend!

This program is brilliant. It’s like having a personalized language program in the palm of your hand. The diverse range of ways to study and learn cover so many more bases than most language apps I’ve tried (and believe me, I’ve tried them all.) Being able to converse with the computer penpals and then have Sylvi generate lessons explaining what you rocked and where you can grow in each conversation is the kind of instant feedback that helps make SPEAKING the language actually feel possible. I love being able to save and review words/phrases, I love having a social human messaging component, and I’m so impressed with how it encourages continued use without that ‘gamey’ feeling that starts to shift focus from the learning to the streaks. I’ve actually replaced my doomscrolling with this app and it’s improved my overall mood and happiness level, which isn’t something they advertise, but definitely an added bonus! 100% will be using this program for the long haul. Fabulous Way to Learn a New Language

As a connoisseur of language learning apps, I can confidently say that this is one of the best ones out there. It gives you the flexibility to learn in a way that works for you and your learning style. Being able to add vocabulary that is relevant to your life is great. The virtual penpal feature allows you to start having real conversations right away. So if you are tired of rote memorization and want to learn to converse right away, Sylvi is worth trying. Also the developers listen to user feedback and the support is great! 10/10 would recommend.

Constantly improving

I’ve been a member of Sylvi since about a month after they launched, and my experience with the platform has been nothing but positive.

One of the biggest things that sets Sylvi apart is that there are real people behind the app who genuinely care about improving it. The team is incredibly responsive, and it’s been amazing watching the platform evolve over time. I’ve had several great conversations with both Tom and Sam, and they’re truly thoughtful, passionate people who care deeply about the user experience.

What I love most, though, is the lesson system itself. The lessons feel structured and purposeful, with clear endpoints for each unit, but the AI is where Sylvi really shines. It adapts in real time and addresses inconsistencies or misunderstandings as they happen, in a way I honestly haven’t seen from other language-learning apps.

I use apps like SpeakPal and Duolingo daily, and I enjoy both of them for different reasons. But if I had to choose one AI-driven language platform that really feels like it has everything together, Sylvi would be my pick.
