About

The hardest part of a family meal is everyone being at the table at the same time. Synchrosophe is a family meal planner. It finds the meal times that bring the most of you to the table at once, which is the hardest part of any family meal. My daughter and I built it for exactly that. Tell it each person's day (when they wake, sleep, nap, which meals they take, and how long each meal keeps them full) and it finds the meal times that bring the most of you together. Drag a meal to try another time and watch how many can make it. Keep separate rhythms for weekdays, weekends and holidays, and adjust when a meal runs late or someone has to turn in early. Meals come with their little jobs, too. Chores (cook, set the table, clear it) rotate fairly among whoever is present, following each person's preferences, and a balance screen shows who has done what, week by week, with one tap to even out the coming assignments. The plan is truly shared: each member of the family can use the app on their own device, see their own day and duties, note a late wake-up, and propose changes for a planner to approve. For the holidays, you can even share a day type with another family, so joint meals are planned across both households. It's the ·sophe family's way of adding a little wisdom (sophía) to the meals we share. The same app works on iPhone, iPad, Mac (in the menu bar) and Apple Watch, with widgets and complications showing the next family meal, plus optional reminders before each one. You can also ask Siri (or run a Shortcut) to skip a meal, mark yourself away, set your wake-up time, or read out your chores. No account, no ads, no tracking, and your family's rhythm stays on your devices. Syncing and sharing travel through your own iCloud, never through us. (Activity calendars you subscribe to for a member can be fetched on request; nothing about you is ever sent.) One purchase: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

• The household: each family member can use the app on their own device. Say who you are, see your own day and duties, note "up late today", and propose changes for a planner to approve. • Chores: cook, set and clear the table rotate fairly among whoever is present, follow each person's preferences, and can differ by day type (a pizza night skips the cooking). A Balance screen shows who did what, by week, month or a cycle you choose, with one tap to rebalance the coming week. • Meal check-in: after a meal, one tap records who was really at the table, and Balance shows how often you truly ate together, beside the planned figures. • Custom day types: give any weekday its own rhythm (a French Wednesday, a custody week), and for the holidays share a day type with another family so joint meals, and their chores, are planned across both households. • Activity calendars: subscribe a member to an ICS link and their busy slots block meals automatically. • Siri & Shortcuts, on iPhone and Apple Watch: "I won't take breakfast today", "I'm away today", "set my wake-up time", "what are my chores". You can also tick a chore off from your wrist. • Plus: share today's plan as an image, import and export your family as CSV, easier member editing, and many fixes. sophe@lewiner.org.
