Ruined it

With the newest update they added a pin to the app. I never set one. I usually just opened the app and it was ready to unlock. Now it keeps telling me pin incorrect. I've tried everything that would make sense. I even opened it with the card and reset it like they say to. Now the card won't work either. So my gun is just stuck in the shelf. Woohoo. Luckily it's not my only one but this is extremely disappointing.

Finally a new version !!šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

UPDATE !!!

A new version has finally been released !!! The App is now way better . Can rename locks !!. Thus eliminating the safety concerns
Connecting is reliable !!

Changing my rating . Just wish it had not taken years to get to this point ..

Original 1.0 review below for reference .

I have fed back to the App owner several times that this App poses a security risk . Currently there is no way to differentiate between multiple units in your home expect memorizing a long serial number which in a time of crisis and high pressure will never be remembered. There needs to be a way to add a nick name, room location, or other user supplied meaningful trap name to know exactly what device you are opening. Instead of getting access to a life saving firearm Opening the incorrect device could provide the intruder with a deadly weapon. This app has not been updated in over a year and even after constant contact attempts the company refuses to update it . Don’t buy these products as you can’t depend on this App when your life is on the line .

New App Nightmare

Previous app was so much more user friendly. New app has lots of glitches and is a nightmare.

You made it worse

Latest update made the app worse. Now I need to give the app more permissions and enter my iPhone pin to open the app. Then it still won’t sync with my trap.

It wasn’t great to begin with, but now it isn’t functional at all. You made it worse and slower.
WTAF.

Unreliable for something that has to be reliable

My title says it all but every time I need to open it, I have to count on the key card which defeats the purpose of me paying more for the Bluetooth. They need to fix this.

Worthless

Program does not store store Bluetooth information and has to scan all my Bluetooth tooth devices before it can open the trap. By the time it gets through the 25 plus Bluetooth devices within reach of my phone, it could very well be much too late to react in an emergency. Solution: place a keycard in your phone case and lay your phone on the trap. Instant open.

Takes 30 seconds to 30 hours to unlock

This is a terrible software program and hardware interface. I’ve had so many problems accessing my guns you could never use this in an emergency. After being locked out for weeks and no help from support I pried it open with a pry bar and smashed it up with a sledgehammer and used it for firewood. Don’t waste your money.

Don’t bet your life on it & save your $$$

This app/ feature takes the tactical out of the trap…… I’ve had my tactical clock for about two years now. Now as far as the workmanship of the product goes. It’s beautiful. However, the app takes five or six times to connect and usually takes about 30 seconds to 2 minutes to connect yet The whole marketing employee of this company is if you can’t get to your weapon with 10 to 15 Seconds. What’s the point of having a weapon… cool idea, needs refinement.

Disappointed with Bluetooth …

When I first got my tactical trap, I paid extra for the Bluetooth unlocking capability.. and every now and again, I would have to try it 3 to 5 times for it to work but it would work.. now that I have lost my key card… my Bluetooth unlocking system has not worked no matter how many times I’ve tried it or how many times I’ve changed the batteries. My Bluetooth can find the device no problem, but will try to sync for hours. And never works anymore. Especially when I need it. I should be reimbursed for this. Especially considering I had to pay extra for the Bluetooth option. And now I have no idea how to get into my tactical trap furniture. I hope someone can give me some kind of information to help me out.
I have bought five different tactical trap pieces of furniture and spent well over $2000 if I wasn’t having a problem with this, then my rating would be five stars because I love their products, but this is a big deal with the Bluetooth unlocking mechanism

Equine Excrement

The trap works well. The app is truly horrible. It is constantly disconnecting from BT and then the app hangs. Totally unreliable and useless app.

Complete Garbage

Doesn’t work at all anymore.

Too slow

App can take nearly 20 secs just to connect to a lock, which is problematic if you are ever in a situation where you urgently need access to your firearm.

Ugly. Simplistic. Useless. App has not been updated in over a year. Very bad sign.

This app is supposed to allow you to pop open a gun concealment safe. (When seconds matter.) Instead, the app starts up, forces you to press a button to start scanning for Bluetooth devices, after scanning and finding a couple, makes you choose one of the Bluetooth devices based on a big long numeric ID, then if successful, it will ask for a 4-digit PIN code, then if you guess right, it will display the option to either forget or unlock that Bluetooth device.

Boom. Bad guys are faster than that. Do not advise.

Cute ā€œbluetooth featureā€. Not for any high-stress defense situation. JDMc

BT app does not work well at all

The current state of the phone app is unacceptable for its intend use. Quick and reliable accessibility to your firearm is paramount in any application. This one fails. The app has frequent problems, connecting to the lock unit and is completely unreliable. The speed and number of steps required to get into the unlock state is also unacceptable. There is no ability for the user to define a unique name for each lock unit. The app only provides a long serial number associated with each unit. If the units are in the same room, it can be very confusing to identify the right lock in a dynamic situation. The app does not include an Apple Watch option, as this is a more likely use case for unlocking in a hurry. Overall, there is substantial work that still needs to be done with this app to make it practical. It’s disappointing.

Worthless

The app keeps wanting you to pair and connect each time. The unlock button worked the first time, which was the last. It initially asked for the PIN the first time, now it doesn’t even get that far. I should be able to grab my phone push a button and have it open. Would be even better if I could do that on my Apple Watch. As it is this app is totally worthless.

Doesn’t work.

Why buy with the upgraded BT lock when it fails to connect to the app. The phone can see the lock and allows you to enter password, but it fails to connect. App hasn’t been updated in over 6 months.

Great idea, but not practical

Right before bed I go through the process of getting to the ā€œunlockā€ screen, leave the app open, and let the phone go dark.
If I ā€œwakeā€ the phone a few minutes later, the first thing I see is the app’s ā€œunlockā€ button, and in good to go.
Problem is, if I do this in the A.M., you have to start the process from the beginning.
So if someone breaks in in the middle of the night, you’re SCREWED.
You really need to fix this.

Infuriating!!!

Stop sending emails that tout the Bluetooth option of your products. It doesn’t work, and I won’t recommend this company to others until this app is fixed! So annoying.

Too slow

As others have mentioned, you have to connect every time. They market it as an improvement and rapid access when in reality it’s just bad.
