App broken

Pushed an update through and broke the app have NOT been able to raise or lower ANY of my blinds over 2 weeks now! They blame the update but offer no option to roll back to fix!?! Horrible.

%

With other applications I've had for other electronic screens, there has been a percentage part. So you could say I want my screens to be down 37%. And you could actually save that in the app. Here it's either all or nothing when you are trying to set up scenes. There really should be something better in regards to this.

Great idea… but

I would like to use this app for a scheduled open this blind at this time, close at this time, I managed to link it to Alexa, but that just opened all the way to closed! To use it daily to open each one and close all yourself it’s 100% at that, but the other stuff would elevate it to another level. 😎

It’s great when it works

The TaHoma app is great when it works but if something goes awry it’s hopeless at helping to determine the issue. I had a problem of a scene not being triggered. I spent ages, with help from Somfy support, trying to find the problem. It turned out to be a temperature sensor needing a reset. But the app doesn’t help to diagnose the problem and the support pages on the Somfy website are of very little use - they almost always take you to pages about setting up, not fault finding.

Google Home connection

My somfy roller blinds no longer link to Google Home. That’s the only reason I bought them five years ago, so I’m very disappointed.

External & Internal blind operation.

Having to go to separate icons to operate the blinds is a nuisance, but no big deal.

Great for awnings

We use the app everyday to deploy and retract our awnings. It works much better than the remote controls that came with the awnings, and we can deploy or retract all of the awnings at once.

Strange user experience

I find it odd that I can only create routines that are manually scheduled. If I want my blinds to open automatically in the morning and close in the evening O have to tell the app I’m going on holiday.

Intermittent at best

I have the Tahoma app to control my garage door. The app is flakey at best. Sometimes it loads straight away other times several seconds before it starts. There is no control feedback, it is one way only. So when the door fails to open which happens very regularly the app shows the door as open even though it’s closed. Opening can take several button presses over several minutes before the door responds. Overall very disappointed with the app. Going back to the remote control instead.

Terrible update

No longer works. Please push out stable usable version

The only APP that works in my SmartHome

Wemo, Apple Home, Google… tried them all. This is the last one that works in my SmartHome. Just wishing TaHoma would pick up all my Smart devices in my house. 👽

Near perfect

I have 5 electronic controlled blinds the app works well but would like to see the app allowing me to part open all, it does allow to open & close all but not part open which is what I like to use whilst away from home.

Very inconsistent

As the tittle says. Doesn’t work very consistently.

Ok app with poor devices

Somfy hub never connects to WiFi and the motors are never able to be controlled

Not good

Inconsistency, many days, many times, just doesn’t work

Don’t use auto update on hub.

There was an update pushed and broke all of my smart shades in my house. It’s going on 5 days and no fix has been pushed.

Excellent

Easy to use; I’ve been using the Somfy app for a long time, and this one is superior—easy, glitch-free, elegant, and consistently updated.

Very bad UX

Useful app for the shades but horrible UX, forces you to review useless notification each time while you just want to open the blinds.
Messy and complicated UX for no reason. Hope they fix it.

Does its job with extra steps

This app is mandatory in order to automate my somfy curtains and it works for that. Unfortunately they’ve chosen to push updates frequently and the updates screen is the first thing you see when opening the app most of the time. So let’s say your curtains open automatically at 7am and today you’d like to quickly close them and sleep in… not so. You’ll have to read the upgrade notice, make a decision about whether to install now and wait to close the curtains later or dismiss the blocking notice, close the curtains, go back to sleep, and then face the same blocker the next time you open the app to do the same. All this for an update that offers no tangible experience change for the average user. They could have a non blocking notice and the nag could be ignored and I could keep on using the app to do the one thing I need it for without having to confront a chore first. The curtains work great but the app upgrade process is intrusive and poorly executed. Once initial setup is complete, few people have an ongoing need to do anything other with the app than quickly open or close a curtain. The upgrade can wait. Or, the app could update itself like all my other apps on the iPhone, but I’d settle for a non blocking notice,

Garbage app

This app is worthless, and it matches all of Somfy’s products in that regard. Literally 75% of all the app functions I try to use don’t work. Period. I’m a software engineer, so I’m not an idiot. It’s not possible to pair a bunch of my expensive motors to my hub. Period. I’ve reset and tried to configure them over and over and over. “An error occurred”. Tap details. Nothing happens. Somfy is an inferior brand that you should never consider adding to ANY home.
