This app is mandatory in order to automate my somfy curtains and it works for that. Unfortunately they’ve chosen to push updates frequently and the updates screen is the first thing you see when opening the app most of the time. So let’s say your curtains open automatically at 7am and today you’d like to quickly close them and sleep in… not so. You’ll have to read the upgrade notice, make a decision about whether to install now and wait to close the curtains later or dismiss the blocking notice, close the curtains, go back to sleep, and then face the same blocker the next time you open the app to do the same. All this for an update that offers no tangible experience change for the average user. They could have a non blocking notice and the nag could be ignored and I could keep on using the app to do the one thing I need it for without having to confront a chore first. The curtains work great but the app upgrade process is intrusive and poorly executed. Once initial setup is complete, few people have an ongoing need to do anything other with the app than quickly open or close a curtain. The upgrade can wait. Or, the app could update itself like all my other apps on the iPhone, but I’d settle for a non blocking notice,
