excellent installer useless software

Installer is excellent and very patient to debug through all connection issue. But then failure is the useless hub and weak/nonfunctioning software. Nothing work consistently in my house, and always need to prepay for luck for some shades to respond to app command. Yes, you may say the remote is always reliable and sufficient. But we are evaluating its app. If the app is not doing its job, no matter its wireless connection infestation or other matter, it’s app issue. Shame for a company with such a strong hardware motor.

Rooms seem broken

The app has been useful setting with Siri commands and different rooms, however it seems the rooms feature is broken. Despite deleting and recreating rooms, when expecting to see the one or two blinds added to the group, all blinds are in the room group, so we now have to manually close specific blinds which is rather annoying. It would also be handy for the app to show the battery status, alert when battery is low, and show the status of the blinds (open/closer), as there have been times we’ve gone to close a some and they’ve been left open because they need charging.

Horrible

This is by far the worst app out there. Updates never work properly. Communication to the shades fail all the time.

Latest Update Broke It

All roller shades show up in every room I create. Create a new room add the shades I want and boop, all the shades are there when I click the room.
Fix this please.

Very temperamental

When it works it’s great, but it keeps dropping off networks never to be connected again. WiFi is the biggest problem, will only work on 2.4GHz networks, but throws a tantrum randomly and won’t reconnect. For today’s home services, this app and the associated hardware is too basic and impossible to troubleshoot.

Latest update messed my grouping

Each device is divided into rooms before when you open a room only the devices under that room would show. With the latest update now the device groups aren't showing properly and all devices of the house are shown for every room.

Rooms bug

Issue with selecting specific blinds in rooms. Since a week or so all blinds appear in any specific room. Bug needs to be fixed urgently.
Example
Living room: Blinds 1,2,3 should only appear but all blinds show from whole home.
Bedroom: Blinds 4,5,6 should only appear but all blinds show.

This is a new bug. Always worked fine.

Absurd

You guys really need to hire somebody that knows what the hell they’re doing to create an app that functions properly.

Formerly, I was able to use the MY button to create my positions that I liked, but the ability to customize has been gone for months.

And now, you guys screwed up every one of the rooms that I had saved. Every single shade in every room in the house shows up in all of the rooms. If I try to create a new room to fix the situation, they still all show up. So, you’ve made the home tab completely useless.

Last update

Last update messed up all the room settings in the app. The rooms still appear with the correct number of shades noted in the upper left of the box, but all shades in the entire house appear within that room (for all rooms) when you then click on that box to operate the shades. Please fix!!

Limited Features

I've found this app to offer limited features and very difficult to use. Setting scenes is complicated and limited options are available. Two is a generous rating

The last update broke room view

The last update shows all devices in every room, instead of just the devices for that room. Please fix. Thank you

Scrambled

Latest update scrambled all my groups. Single shades that were group together (similar names) are now separated

Needs improvement

The app can’t keep up with what’s going on, it says blinds are open when they’re actually closed and vice versa. It’s also a very long winded process to get it to work with Alexa.

Way to basic and unhelpful

Was so looking forward to my pergola set up, with lights and fans and heaters and the ability to open and close my Louvres all from the app. Reality - app works with lights and Louvres only. This ended up costing me a lot more money to figure an integrated solution and we are back to a remote control for every little thing. You should have figured out a simple solution to connect all possible devices to the Somfy app to get rid of remotes and ease integration without having to figure out a backend way to do it.

Good, but glitchy

Have to reset the router every now and then as the system seems to lock up

Not intuitive

One shade isn’t working and I can’t find a way to uninstall it or fix it so that the app recognizes it.

Could be better

The app is intuitive and easy to use. However there is one significant improvement that would make it outstanding, and that would be to actually be able to.trigger scenes based on the sun position. Currently you can trigger off of time, or even actual sunrise/sunset. But the sun changes position throughout the summer (if we are lucky). So setting times as thresholds is a bit of a blunt tool. Would be interested in what you think.

Easy to use but automation does not work

I like the app but programming it to open and close my curtains will not work.

Timing option

Would love to see an option to automatically program awning to deploy and retract at a certain time each day.

Be smarter than your consumers

I shouldn’t have to be the one playing detective and identifying vestigial zigbee motor groups and blah blah blah. I don’t think I’ve ever paired a motor that hasn’t ended with an error message, but 80% of the time when you start it over, it was paired successfully. I’ve had to restart this tahoma, reboot it, find the zigbee addresses using a Unifi sniffer in order to TRICK your hub into functioning properly. Get your es h eye tee together.
