Not keeping up with the Jones’
I have been shopping on takealot since the beginning. It is a great site to by difficult to find items. Unfortunately there is a lot of Chinese site resellers now, it cannot keep up with the new technology of phones and does not work with the iPhone 17 Pro at all and currently has the worst search bar function of any online shopping platform. They want me to buy a take a lot more subscription, but I live rural and there’s no way they’ve ever been able to hold to their shipping promises.

Search Bar Issues
For some reason the search bar never works when I got to their website. It is a major problem if you are looking for something and you end up going elsewhere. Plus the prices on Takealot are not always the lowest possible. Have to be real careful with that.

I placed my order over 3 wks ago. They have now cancelled one of the items saying it is unavailable but when I go onto the app, it still shows as available and I can reorder. The new order will take another month to get here. If it doesn’t get cancelled again in a month. I think it’s time I start trying Amazon.

Consolidation
I love this app! I only wish they could consolidate the loads and use smaller boxes or pack multiple things in a box- pack things better. Sometimes the box used is waaaay bigger than the package itself and for freight forwarding customers like myself we get hammered with volumetric weight. Even form an environmental point of view it would be better to reduce the amount of wasted boxes.

Using Takealot for Online Shopping
I’m grateful to have an online shopping option when I am visiting my vacation home in a remote village in SA out from Canada BUT I find the descriptions very limited. EG: I want to buy plastic totes for my closets but there are no measurements other than 20litres! I need LxHxW! 2 years ago something was not delivered but Takealot denied it and I had to buy the item again. I’ve also had a few minor breakages on delivery. I am now about to try and return an expensive ring camera that does not work. I hope it goes well. Otherwise I am happy enough to keep using Takealot.

I paid an extra fee for early delivery just to receive a box of things I did not order! Now how long must I wait to receive my things that I PAID FOR??? They won’t even return the extra fee that was paid for early delivery!!! UNEXCEPTIONABLE takealot!

I get tired of this app constantly asking me to login. What’s the problem? I select remember me on this phone and it STILL makes me login over and over and over again. I love to shop from Takealot, but this is really annoying. Please fix!
