Phone screen locks regularly while watching the videos

This app is so frustrating to use. If I start a video it frequently allows my phone to automatically lock repeatedly. I use an IPhone 16 so it’s a newer phone. Additionally it frequently restarts the video at the beginning if I have to stop using the app for a while. Note, I didn’t fully close the app it just randomly decides to start over. I have not determined why sometimes I can pickup where I left off and others I have to try and find out where I left off and see if I can move myself forward to that time. The video won’t always start if I try to do this.
