Must be a scam - Immediately wants me to put card in.

App immediately requires me to put in a card. Can't be "ranked" or see any locations near me that use this app without putting in my credit card. I saw another review where the dev said that was an "old version" but i downloaded this app today and immediately asked to put card in. Screams scam to me.

Response from developer

Hey Nick, thanks for your comment & we completely understand your concern, so we’d love to help clear up a few things: 1. Yes, you can’t be ranked without linking your credit card because we have no way to rank you. However, you can see all locations near you without linking a card. 2. To alleviate some of your security concerns, all card linking is done through Plaid, the most reputable source in the industry for connecting cards. Other companies that use Plaid for this same service are Venmo, Robinhood, Wise, Rocket Money, Chime & more.

Easy & Rewarding!

W Rewards

Great app for earning rewards at bars. Worked with them on setting up programs at different bars around my school and helps create a good incentive to keep going out!

Super convenient

This app is awesome, I basically just get free stuff for buying what I normally would. Once you add your card your account is fully set up.

We're stoked that you're loving it!

Steer Clear

Makes you link your card immediately, AI slop interface and an obvious money grab from these guys. Going to the bars should be a fun experience not associated with this app

Response from developer

Hey Notbadkid47, I appreciate your mission of wanting to make sure that going out to the bars is a fun experience, we're on the same mission as you, which is why we built this frictionless rewards app, however, here are a few points we disagree on: 1. You may have been on an old version of our app when writing this review and that's totally okay. Our new versions as of the last few weeks does not make you link your card immediately. You can view almost all of our app without linking a card and when you're ready to start earning points and be placed on the leaderboard then you can link your card. 2. We definitely didn't use AI slop for our interface. We spent over a year designing and iterating, but with how good AI is now a days, I guess that's up to debate and only grounded in trust. We'll let the majority be the judge of that. 3. It's completely free to download, make an account, link a card and earn points at your favorite venues. A small $0.99 monthly subscription only comes in when you want to redeem a reward, which is usually of $5-$10 of value and occurs monthly. So actually, it's a money grab for you :)

Amazing

Super useful app for getting rewards at my favourite bars!

Challenges & Rewards are 🔥

Love the concept of this app. My buddies and I always try to add in some sort of games or challenges when we go out.

Having the leaderboards, challenges and social aspect setup makes this super easy to use for us. Rewards are a sick plus, too.
