One sync problem after another
If you only need your databases to run on one device, this is a 5-star app. You won’t find anything better. But if you need to sync between two or more devices, you better listen up. Sync is not easy on Tap Forms the way you may be used to with other apps. It doesn’t “just work.” It’s complicated and can be hard to get set up in the first place. Then its complexity makes it vulnerable to failures, and for me those keep happening again and again. The dev really needs to rebuild the sync engine from scratch. I’m in the process of transitioning to a less capable app just to get something that doesn’t break all the time.

Updating
I am using the new version of TapForms Pro (1.3.1) on my new iMac with the M4 chip. The power and versatility of the program is unbelievable, I am going back to our travel database adding maps, website, and pictures to help us remember. I design my own forms and this format lets me revise and build the depth of purpose like no other. Now adding book cover photos to my wife’s book-reading list brings a personalization.
The photo option is helpful for recording our heirlooms in the house. Besides recording the room and location, the photos are able to be moved around inside the database photo box. I haven’t used the link to other forms yet, but know that is also a powerful option.

Deceptive Trial Pricing - Out $6 for “Trial” and not because I forgot to cancel
Wanted to try the app to see if it was for me. I did, it seems fine enough but not what I was looking for. However I didn’t realize I could only use the trial if I’d set it to annual instead of monthly pricing (which we can presume is so the dev can collect more unearned money from users who will forget to cancel). I set to monthly as a precautionary measure not realizing I wouldn’t get the trial, confirmed, then also as a precaution disabled the auto-renew. Now 11 days later I’m getting a receipt for $5.99+tax for an app I played with for probably less than 3 minutes.
I’m not against subscriptions, but yeah, this is why people hate them. Not sure how much of this was in the dev's hands versus Apple's, but it feels like theft by technicality, and gives me a gross overall impression of the app maker. Enjoy your cut of my $6 you don't deserve.

Hi Jeremy. I don’t believe I am being deceptive with my subscribe screen. When you select the annual plan, the button clearly states “Redeem Your Free 14 Days”. But when you select Monthly, the button changes to “Subscribe Now”. You chose the Monthly option, so there was no trial offered. You could still have had the free trial with the annual plan and cancelled immediately. But if you email me at support@tapforms.com, I’d be happy to send you a refund via PayPal or something. Or Apple may be able to refund you if you submit a request for one. I’m sorry that Tap Forms Pro didn’t meet with your expectations. If you email me to let me know what you were looking for, perhaps I could work on the necessary improvements for you. Invaluable and essential
Ever since the demise of Bento many years ago I have been a Tap Forms user and I have found that unless you want to spring for the excellent FileMaker it really is the only sane database option for most Apple users. Despite a few niggles the latest Pro version is an noticeable improvement for Apple Silicon users and although I initially baulked at the new Subscription model I do appreciate that Brendan (the very responsive dev) needs to be rewarded for all his work and to ensure Tap Forms Pro continues to evolve and provide users with a powerful, workable user friendly Mac and iOS database at a sensible price. If you’re an Apple user and have data you need to store and organise - and who doesn’t, Tap Forms Pro is one of those core essential apps. There can be a bit of a learning curve for first time users but that is now ameliorated by the optional built in AI facility. I use it all day, every day. Frankly life would be much harder without Tap Form Pro.

Continued Extraordinary Support
I’ve been a long time user of Tap Forms both for business and in retirement where I now use it for my daily tasks & appointments. Not being very tech savvy, I have depended on Brendan on several occasions and he always is there to help and spend the time needed to solve my issues.
Update to Pro
Having used Tap Forms 5 for several years I have recently upgraded to Pro. This was a simple process and the certainty of continued support is worth the price. On the few occasions I have needed support, the developer has been both prompt and focused on solving the problem - especially given the 8h time difference between Alberta and UK. I have no hesitation in recommending the App.

So grateful for the help from Brendan
I’ve been using TapForms through several upgrades and I’ve been happy with it. But I have a new Mac laptop and needed to modify and migrate my databases to Tap Form Pro to continue using it. One stubborn little database refused to migrate and I couldn’t make it cooperate. I was so frustrated. I contacted Support and Brendan replied. He emailed me many good suggestions and even sent a video. And he was so patient! The problem was resolved and I’m on my merry way, continuing with this useful program.

From old to new
I was having problems getting my old files to work with the new app, Brendan was amazing at saving all my data and made sure it all worked for me on the new app. Amazing service, could not be more happy with this.
Long time customer
I was introduced to Tap Forms in 2014 when the Bento inventory program I was using was re-marketed as an industrial vs Mac OS supported tool. Fortunately my computer literate husband recommended the Tap Forms App which had already been on the market for at least 4 years as it served his own geekier needs for data management. I soon discovered how easy it was to migrate my in-progress document and continue it with a lot of new features within (then) Tap Forms 1.5, The app has since evolved with newer versions, most recently Tap Forms Pro.
Tap Forms does far more than just inventory which I dwell on only because my ~2 gigabyte inventory file is not just word descriptive and numerically helpful but has multiple photographic views of my individual collectibles. The developer, Brendan Duddridge, continued to improve his brainchild and it works seamlessly for big business programmers as well as the more casual users like me. It has been referred to as a digital filing cabinet but it does so much more. If you need to manage data, the developer has done all the hard work so you don't have to. He is also extremely helpful. Without reservation, I highly recommend Tap Forms Pro to you.

Acheteur de la version 5, je veux passer à la version Pro pour laquelle on m’offre une réduction de 50 % pendant un an; sauf que lorsqu’on arrive en fin de processus d’achat, il est précisé que cette offre spéciale n’est pas disponible pour l’instant, sans rien préciser de plus, avec donc échec de la transaction ??? Soit elle n’est plus disponible et on ne l’affiche plus avec son gros bandeau rouge et blanc, soit elle l’est encore - puisqu’affichée - et l’on fait alors en sorte que cela fonctionne !! C’est effectivement le prix affiché qui doit être pratiqué.

Great database, with actual customer support
I’ve used Tap Forms 5 since 2023 and just migrated over to Tap Forms Pro. Ever since the first setup Brendan has provided fast and personalized support to answer any questions. This was no different with the migration to Pro. Tap Forms is easy to set up and use, and I’m no tech wizard by any stretch of the imagination. I didn’t use a template but created my database from scratch in 5, completely based on my needs. I love how it’s adaptable when needs change. I’m an artist and use it to store info and photos of the work I make, the exhibitions each piece has been in, where it’s located, etc. The migration to Pro and data transfer worked without any issues. Big thumbs up for Tap Forms and for superb customer service by a real human!

An excellent app and good personal support.
I had used TapForms 5 for years and never found its equal for a personal set of databases. Upgrading to Tap Forms Pro was straightforward with minimal tailoring to suit. One database did have a “locked” problem but this was quickly sorted out with support.

I have been using this software for a large plant database (3000 records) for over 6 years. It works well is very interactive and allows many users with very little database background to understand the processes.

I’ve just started with Tap Forms Pro and I am a former Tap Forms 5 user. I really appreciate the discount and all of my former databases transferred easily from Tap Forms 5 to Pro. I am alb etc get the same functionality and more. I am learning how to really maximize my use of this great new software.

The only database you will need
I learned the basics of programming in the 1970’s. Fortran, COBOL, Basic.
Today, the ONLY database I use is Tap Forms. It runs on my Mac, my iPads, my phone, and my wife’s iPad and iPhone.
It keeps in sync between them, meaning make a change in one database, and all the others update quickly.
Very flexible and easy to design a database and forms to fill it out.
Basically, what more could you want in a database? 5 Stars.

Pretty, Pretty Good!
I’ve just started using Tap Forms DB Pro. I’m still discovering all the useful things that one can use this app for to better organize life. I just finished a Library Books DB that I can use as an instant reference to the almost 500 books I’ve read since 2016 from my local library.
