About
Can you drink the tap water where you are going? TapNomad answers for 4,000+ cities worldwide. Every safe, caution or not-safe verdict names its source and the date it was checked. Free to use, no account.
KNOW BEFORE YOU DRINK
• One clear verdict per city: safe, caution, not safe, or unverified when nobody has published enough to say.
• The source behind it, such as a water utility, a health authority or a national monitoring program. Tap it for the details.
• The date it was last verified and how confident the answer is.
THE QUESTIONS TRAVELERS ACTUALLY ASK
• Brushing teeth, ice in drinks, coffee and tea, baby formula: each gets its own answer.
• Taste and limescale, where hardness and chlorine have been measured.
• Plain advice for places where the tap is not safe.
WATER ON THE MAP
• 350,000+ drinking fountains and refill points in 200+ countries.
• A note when a point is private, indoors, charges a fee, or is at an airport where it may be behind security.
• Shops that are likely to sell bottled water, for places where the tap is not an option.
PREMIUM: TAKE IT OFFLINE
• Download your destination before the trip: the map, the water points, the shops and the verdicts.
• Offline walking directions where downloaded route data is available; otherwise, direction guidance to the water point or shop.
Premium requires a paid weekly or yearly subscription. Eligible new subscribers get a 3-day free trial on the yearly plan. After the trial, the yearly price shown at purchase is charged. Subscriptions renew automatically unless turned off in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
The safety information itself is free and stays free.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no email, no ads, no advertising tracking.
• Your precise location helps find nearby water and is not saved on our servers.
• Anonymous usage statistics are optional and off until you say yes.
HONEST LIMITS
TapNomad reports what official and published sources say. It cannot see a burst main, a boil-water notice issued this morning, or the pipes inside your building. When the data is thin it says so instead of guessing. It is information, not medical advice.

What's New in TapNomad
1.0.3
October 20, 2026
TapNomad keeps improving. • With Premium, TapNomad can now automatically update water data for your downloaded cities when you open or return to the app online. • The privacy texts now say simply what the app keeps and what it sends. • Turning crash reports off now also tries to clear the reports still waiting on your phone.
