Poor reliability
If the reliability doesn’t improve I’m cancelling my subscription. The app was good up thru 2024. But in 2025 and early 2026 it’s HORRIBLE. LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVES NOW
Fundamentally has not worked since early 2025 update
Over the years, TaxDay was a decent, easy to use app, even if on the expensive side.
In early 2025 they did a major software change and it rarely tracks locations correctly. Support is slow to respond and always says a fix is on the way, that doesn’t fix.
If you want a tax tracking app, TaxDay is NOT able to do that. Sad for them, they have destroyed their product.

Don’t update it!
App is super sluggish after update in Sept 2025. If you have it don’t update it. Web portal is unresponsive.
Very frustrating and cumbersome app
App no longer works at all doesn’t track your days. They told me they made an upgrade in July 2025 that caused an issue that has since been fixed, but it’s not true. The app doesn’t track your days. Appeals to customer service are very spotty. I tried multiple times to appeal and didn’t always get an answer. Time to get a new tracking app.

You keep making updates and creating more bugs. No one ever response to service. I don’t think anyone works at this company
Recent update completely broke the app
With the recent June 2025 update the app GPS tracking on IOS is completely broke as others are also reporting. It is missing locations outright even after presence for multiple hours and days. It’s totally useless at this point. Support requests go unanswered.

I agree with other recent reviews. The upgrade destroyed functionality and the app is now useless. Do not purchase!
No Longer Functional
This app was always a little finicky but it did the job it was supposed to… but in June 2025 they decided to upgrade to a new technology stack and it’s now useless.
After the “upgrade”, tracking was inconsistent (missed multiple days at time) and even when it did track the times were completely wrong. Attempts to reach out to customer service were futile (probably because they were overwhelmed) but for an app that was on the more expensive end of the spectrum they really f’d up this rollout.
Avoid this app and go for one of the cheaper alternatives like TaxBird or Sarmiza

All is completely messed up
They completely broke this app. It’s reporting incorrect data and is missing my travel records. Do not trust this app until they fix it.

Unreliable
Frequently cuts out and stops recording where I am. Randomly deleted two weeks worth of location data. No customer support.
Very frustrating and cumbersome app
First let me say the app can accomplish what you need it to, namely to track and classify your days in any jurisdiction. But the app itself is buggy and even when it works the way you need it to, it is incredibly cumbersome to use. The basic task of recording where you were on a given day takes too much time. And if you are in a jurisdiction that is in close proximity to cell tower in another jurisdiction (let’s say you’re close to the state line), the app will record hundreds of false positives for any given day that you will then have to categorize, which will take you far too much time to do. For the amount of money I spend, it should work better, and I plan to transition to a different app next year.
