Borderline unusable

This app used to be great. Sadly, the ads are absolutely infuriating now. I’m not playing a game… just trying to communicate with my son’s team. Flipping from one tab to another generates a min 30 second ad almost every time, and many require multiple taps to close.

The ad-free subscription cost is astronomical, especially considering we’d have to pay for 3 of them.

Such a joke.

Ads!

The ads are SO intrusive. You want to read a quick message as you’re running out the door and you have to wait for a full-on video to play first. Come on!

Terrible app

I don’t know why anyone uses this app.

Here are the cons of using this app:
1. Tons of ads and ads that pop up and take over the entire screen.
2. Marking your availability is a premium feature. You can’t use this app for any player to check in unless you pay!
3. You can’t track stats unless you do so on a computer.

I have no idea how there are so many 5 star reviews for this app. You can use other apps that track stats and availability for free. There are even apps that will track snack/drink duty for free too.

Impossible to log in without changing password every time

It’s not possible to log in without changing my password every time (the magic login link doesn’t work)

And the app auto-logs me out every 24 hours so I keep having to change my password

Ads!

The ads suck! Why does it take multiple times to close the ads!
Super frustrating and makes me want to find another app.

Ad free still has many ads!

Don’t buy the ad free! Teams pick these apps unfortunately and parents have to live with it. This app has way too many ads. If I was working for this company I’d be embarrassed at the product. I paid for ad free version, guess what… still lots of “partner ads”. If you get $50 from a paying customer to get rid of ads, you should get rid of all of them. I requested my money back and can’t wait to not have to use this app in the future.

Ad-free is a lie

Don’t believe them when they tell you it’s ad free if you pay for no ads. You will still see a third-party ad every time you open the app. They try to play it off and call it a partnership sponsorship or some other BS but a third-party company pays them to show you an ad. Classic bait and switch. It’s sad that they stick to this lie because the app is actually great for what it does. I have used it for years but now they’ve just decided that even though they’re going to charge for as free they’re just going to lie and show them anyway.

No refunds

I signed up and paid for the yearly plan in March 2026 because I have multiple kids playing soccer and their teams used this app. Fall league is now starting and their league has decided to no longer use Team Snap and have switched to Byga. I went to cancel my subscription and found out there’s no refunds. I have over six months left of this subscription and it doesn’t appear there’s any way for me to get my money back. After canceling, it says my subscription expires next year, and it’s completely useless to me. There’s not even any contact info so we can attempt to get our money back. How can you do this to families who are only using this app because it’s what their league required?

Used to be better.

From a coaching perspective, it is a great way to keep connected with parents. My issue this year is the amount of adds and their length. When I am checking team chats for multiple teams the number of adds makes it less efficient and enjoyable.

No good experience

Not a great experience. There are way too many ads, and the app doesn’t allow users to select text, which makes it impossible to use the iPhone’s built-in translation feature. This is especially inconvenient for users who need to translate team messages and announcements. Please consider allowing text selection and reducing the number of ads.

Always Crashing

This app is great when its working well, but lately it has been crashing so much where i have to delete and re-download multiple tikes before it acknowledges my login.

Cropped Headshots

Great app for coordination, scheduling, and communication!

The major flaw with this app is when selecting a player on the roster for a better view of their picture their heads are always cut off. It seems like an easy fix to me but it has been this way for years.

Lacking basics

No simple survey option in chat. Can't add new users to a chat you have to create a chat. Can'r
reply to emails, you have to start a new email when all you want to do is reply

Coach

Efficient and easy to use!

Needs Changes

App is decent. You can’t add individuals to a current group chat. You have to start a new chat every time, that’s quite cumbersome when you have quick team changes. Adding that feature would be a welcome change.

As for the one star review…they have started advertising when I open the app, even though I pay for the annual service. If I’m paying an annual fee I don’t want to see advertising when I just need to send a quick message to my team.

Not functional

My kids teams have been told to use this app through their various leagues. When you go into the app it records all historical teams with no ability to delete old teams. I’ve have so many teams I have to navigate through. Following the instructions online to (log in to their site) to take the action to clean this up and the steps don’t align with the user experience. Asked to delete account to start over- they never deleted the account. No response to requests. The worst app I’ve used.

Ads Ads & Ads

You have to find your schedule between 100s of ads. Pathetic app and very expensive subscription.

Straight TRASH

I don’t choose to use this. We use this app because our daughter’s gym uses it, though they use it more like a glorified single-channel chat app. The devs know they have a captive audience, so the advertising is bonkers-level intrusive. Buggy, weird non-native behavior, and an interface that looks like it’s from 2009.

Decent app with the worst subscription options I’ve seen

The app works well and does the job. But.

I’ve been paying for no ads for years now. It’s a few dollars a month. No problem with that. I’m happy to pay it.

The problems are:

1) they don’t consider sponsorships to be ads, so suddenly I’m seeing Tide logos everywhere

2) every. Update. “Forgets”. That. I. Pay. For. No. Ads.

I have to go into “subscription “ and “restore purchases “ several times a month because of their update cadence. It’s maddening.

Uh.. Gambling Ads for Kids now??

Not sure how it’s legal w/ a ton of high schoolers required to use the app for their teams/programs, but Online Slot ads show up constantly all of the sudden. It used be great.. like 12/10 great. Annoying when they started w/ ads but it’s common so you deal w/ it for the convenience if that’s what the coach prefers.. But uh gambling ads for teens is about as irresponsible as you can get lol. Parents are furious (ones that play online slots and ones that don’t) so someone probably gets sued or something at some point, but still really disappointing that it was so efficient now isn’t worth it when your teen has to sit through a gambling ad just to view their schedule or respond to their coach’s message.
