30 Years in the Car Business, Tekion Is in a League of Its Own

After nearly 30 years in the automotive business, I’ve had the opportunity, and sometimes the frustration,of working with virtually every major DMS and CRM platform in our industry. I’ve watched dealership technology evolve tremendously over those three decades, and I can say without hesitation that I have never been more satisfied with a DMS/CRM than I have been during our five years with Tekion.

What separates Tekion isn’t simply that it does more. It’s the way the entire platform works together. Sales, CRM, desking, F&I, accounting, service, parts, inventory, reporting, and management are connected in a way that finally feels like dealership technology was designed as one ecosystem, rather than a collection of separate products forced to communicate with each other.

As an operator, one of the things I appreciate most is having information at my fingertips. Whether I’m sitting at my desk, walking the showroom, traveling, or away from the dealership, I can see what is happening in my stores and actually act on it. That level of visibility and accessibility has fundamentally changed the way I manage.

But perhaps the most impressive thing about Tekion is that it never feels finished, and I mean that as the highest compliment. The platform is continually evolving. Features improve, workflows become more efficient, and capabilities are added at a pace unlike anything I’ve experienced with traditional automotive software companies. Tekion doesn’t appear satisfied with simply replacing the legacy DMS; they continue looking for ways to rethink how a dealership should operate.

No technology platform is perfect, and change can certainly require adjustment from employees who have spent years doing things a certain way. But after three decades in this business and experience with the competition, I wouldn’t choose to go backward.

Five years later, Tekion remains one of the best technology decisions we’ve made for our dealerships. Hands down, the best DMS and CRM platform I’ve used in my career.

avoid

x time is 100% better tekion crashes multiple times when trying to make videos would not recommend

don’t even think about it

This crm is the most consistently broken piece of technology I have ever used, would love to meet the engineering team so I can see what brain trauma they must have experienced.

Tekion nightmare

Wouldn’t be so bad if it was Xtime. Doesn’t refresh. Multipoints disappear after it gets worked and finished. Request get lost. And the Get Help button doesn’t get you any help. I would 0/5 if possible

Avoid

I’d give negative stars if I could. You guys are worse than Activision…each update it gets worse

Terrible App Worst CRM

Crashes constantly works like an app from 2009 on my old iPod though super clunky crashes constantly terrible layout. Constantly crashes I can’t even use the app. Worst mobile app CRM I’ve used.

Updates

Fix you’re damn app. With these stupid updates all the time, request times out. Can’t even use the damn app.

Trash

Trash Vinsoulution is way better

Horrible User Experience

Every time I open the app, I need to do some pointless update that doesn’t make any changes. Whenever I want to open a picture from a text message, I have to separately download it to my phone and open it on an external link only if my phone has availability to download the file. Whenever I open the app, it logs me out and then ask me if I want to stay logged in just to log me out every single time I reopen the app. This is not user-friendly at all.

Buggy and very limited function

The app sounded good on paper but in reality it’s almost useless. You cannot search vehicles/RO’s that you are not assigned too, does not update live, and software updates sometimes do not go through which locks down the app. The only thing the app is good for is uploading photos ( which is not even necessary ), and looking up an RO number that you have forgotten. Tekion in general could be a lot better, but it got a long long way to go.

So many bugs

This app bugs out every single day for me, super unreliable. I can barely send my clients updates with videos because the loading page lasts for 10 minutes just for it to crash.

Not for selling

This is an app for management

It Ight

I love it only complaint is why it gotta log me out every other day like thats so annoying🙄

Terrible! Everyday is a problem.

Tekion have a really long way to go. They so focus on adding a million features, options and menu but execution of the app is terrible. Nothing loads properly, slow to respond, can’t mark as complete when a tech if finished with a job, tooo many restriction and the efficiency of tech has dropped soooo much. Techs are on their phone more than working on the cars or holding a tool. X-time perfected the MPI and service recommendations. Takes my tech 2minutes compared to the 30minutes with Tekion and I’m not exaggerating. Terrible app. I see why the 2 stars and bad reviews. I’m trying to convince our manager to stay away from this app. It’s not ready for the industry.

I like Tekion

System works well!

Probably one of the worst apps in existence

Trash app that hardly does anything you need it to. Avoid at all costs.

Many improvements!

As the CTO of a multi franchise automotive dealership group, I have spent years working with dealership management systems, CRM, digital retailing platforms, inventory tools, and service operation software. Tekion has one of the most modern and ambitious platforms in the automotive industry, but stands out most is the unified ecosystem. Having sales service parts, accounting, CRM and digital retailing integrated into a single cloud base platform creates opportunities for efficiency that traditional legacy system simply cannot match. The user interface is modern, Mobile, friendly, and significantly more intuitive for new employees compared to any other older dealership system. Tekion’s innovation pace is impressive. The platform continuously evolves with new features, workflow, enhancements, and integration that help helped dealerships improve. Customer experience in operational visibility. The ability to access data in real time across departments provide provides leadership teams with better insights for decision-making. Like any rapidly growing technology platform, there are opportunities for improvement. Stability and consistency or critical and dealership operations, and occasional system outages or feature changes can have a significant impact on day-to-day business. Communication around updates, issue, resolution timelines, and support responsiveness our areas where continued improvement would provide tremendous value to Dealer partners. Overall, Tekion represents the future dealership technology. Well no platform is perfect. It’s vision, innovation, and commitment to modernizing automotive retail. Make it one of the most promising solutions available today. We look forward to seeing continued enhancements that further improve liability, performance, and Dealer support.

Terrible.

Has Potential but need large amounts of work.

Our corporate offices made the unfortunate decision to switch to Tekion in April. The trainers were not helpful, barely had enough information to do the basics of service advising. Now a month into it, all sorts of privilege issues that can not be resolved at the dealer ship level. Repair order Totals change with no reasoning, you have to go and search to see what happened. Customers hate the interface. The approvals column on the RO list simply does not work, so approvals get missed all the time. My list of grievances could go on and on. Hoping for change/ improvement . Expecting none.
