Good Lord, what happened??

I pickup up a Leap Visitor card and downloaded the app on a Dublin visit and it performed like clockwork. Right on time, navigation worked spot on, very reliable stop info. Loved it and talked it up whenever I had the chance. No more of that flattery, as here we are 3 years later and I just walked to two (distant) stops that were totally wrong. When I was on a bus over the past few days, the navigation does not function, and each relatively short journey seems to involve 25 minutes on foot and one minute on the bus. The app developer must be heavily invested in Uber, as that is what I am writing this review from now just so I can get to where I need to go in time for an important appointment. Needs some work, lads!

Hopeless

Shocking app, impossible to use and avoid entirely unless major/substantial improvements

Helpful app for taking a bus

The app is actually quite helpful for taking a bus around Dublin. Enter the stop number, destination, plan your route. Helpful to know when the next bus is coming so you can time your last pint.

What would give the app 5 stars is showing upcoming, next stops. It’s nice that it shows the route live. But the live route doesn’t list the next few stops so it’s a bit of a guessing game when you’re getting close to the destination and there are multiple stops in town.

Ikke bra

Vedig dritt!
Not as good as VY or ATB Norge.

the worst

I can only imagine this app was designed as an effort to give a young student who was new to coding a chance to experience app design for the very first time. I cannot even fathom how an app with only one meaningful function—to let us know when a bus will arrive—fails to do even that.

WORST APP EVER

All the developers should be fired

Reliable and convenient

Used this app to plan all my travel journeys from Westport to Cork and everywhere in between. Helpful map shows exactly where each stop is and give (mostly) accurate timelines. Some buses might run delayed but that’s to be expected sometimes with public transportation.

Literally why

It was somewhat useful but it kept showing buses and trains that didn’t use the TFI leap card. It also didn’t have correct ETAs and some buses just don’t arrive. Only useful in and near Dublin

€4 Million Digital Irish Monument to Incompetence

In a stunning exhibition of corporate grifting, Trapeze has transformed public funding into a digital wasteland that mocks the very concept of functional real-time planning software. Nonetheless, this €4 million abomination isn’t just a terrible app as other perceive - it’s a masterclass in modern bureaucratic theft, where incompetence is packaged as innovation and static data is sold as cutting-edge real-time technology.

Make nothing easy it’s kind of like communism

Gives more people jobs problem is Ireland is like a 3rd world country and I am being kind

It take a little effort to understand

But once you get it, it is a very useful app. Recommend it, and take advantage of Favourites. Critiquing an app for bus delays is silly.

Misleading information

This is a really poor app because the inaccuracies of it lead you to missed busses and being in the wrong place. The journey planner tells you which specific bus stops with numbers to go to but these bus stops are wrong and the bus can go from other stops while you wait at the wrong stop on the wrong side of the road! Not acceptable for national infrastructure. No excuse for this.

Useless

What a completely useless app

Real time info - sweet!

Wonderful app. Good job TFI.

How bad this app is

Terrible app, bad design, it’s as if the app guesses when a bus is coming, a bus could be out of service and the app wouldn’t tell you until you realise yourself. Overall nothing good to say about this app or the buses themselves I recommend you don’t buy this app and simply never take a bus again the LUAS is miles superior

Helpful App

So helpful in getting around as a visitor to Dublin. Planning when to leave and when to hop off, so great!

Just makes up the arrival times

Supposed to be able to use this app to plan your commute to work but 50% of the time (I am probably understating this) the bus shows up at a completely different time to that advertised in the app. They are supposed to be live updated arrival times but it’s all nonsense. Literally the most useless app for the most useless public transport system I have ever used.

Massive downgrade from Journey Planner

Journey Planner had its flaws with routing and live updates, but in general it worked pretty reliably. This app is a disaster, it is harder to navigate, it crashes, sometimes it doesn’t load information, it takes a very long time to load or find your location. All in all it is a big downgrade from what was only a decent experience, and I have no idea why they retired Journey Planner in favour of this.
