Gift certificate Sad no card provided to present and the gift

I recently purchased a gift certificate for a friend. I had a tie box all ready to put it in and gift wrap it. Unfortunately I was told there is nothing to give just his name is in the system.
I have to say from a sales and marketing perspective, not a positive experience.
I strongly suggest you come up with a template that the states persons name and service purchased. Everyone feels important when they are handed a gift to open.
I guess there are no presents under your tree to open at Christmas. If there are? then re think your empty gift box policy.
