Terrible piece of Software

This app was either vibe coded or they just weren’t very good at their job because this app is extremely poorly made.

Service is unbelievably expensive (why charge $50 for a cookbook when you can charge $110 a year and they can’t even see the recipes if they unsubscribe)

Allergy listings contained none of the foods I’m allergic to as well, causing the first 3 recommendations I was ever offered something that would have killed me if I had made it.

Response from developer

Hello, I'm sorry for any disappointment here - the app definitely isn't vibe coded and is carefully crafted by our tiny team and is well received by most of our users. We have over 1000 recipes in the app, so far more than a cookbook's worth but if you feel that this isn't enough value for you, we offer over 200 recipes entirely for free. I'm also sorry about any allergy confusion but please do get in touch with us (app@thedoctorskitchen.com) if you need any help setting up your preferences. Dr Rupy

It’s only free for 7 days!

Very disappointed in Doctors Kitchen.
I’m a long time listener to his podcast and decided to download app as he always says it’s free.
It’s not.
You need to pay after 7 days are up.
I feel this is poor form and misrepresented in his podcast.
Such a shame.
I didn’t expect full access for free but I did expect more than 7 days (even limited access would have been better than the false promise). Cya.

Great, even better with other languages...

I like the app very much and also the YouTube channel. The recipes are really delicious.

It would be really great if you could set up other languages, e.g. German. 😉

Response from developer

That's great to hear, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback! We'll certainly consider adding other languages in the future :-)

Poorly optimised app

This app requires always on internet. Using the shopping list feature in a shopping mall with spotty internet is impractical as marking off items won’t sync.

The app is very unresponsive when moving between menus as I suspect it is downloading text / images every time and not caching anything, this is an incredibly poor user experience when trying to add recipes to a plan. The delay caused by redownloading items causes me to double click / swipe in the menu and lose my place.

There is no cursor in any text entry fields.

I do not think this app is worth the price given these design decisions. I will not be renewing my subscription.
