So fun
The recordings are incredible. Feels so good to play with these amazing rhythm sections. The UX could use some work - not the most intuitive, and my biggest issue as a pianist is that every time i open a new tune, I have to re-mute the piano, which is annoying. But it’s early days of the app and I’m sure it will only improve from here.

Brilliant app, get it!
I’ve tried a bunch of jazz play-along apps over the years, and this one is on a whole different level. The biggest thing for me is just how good it sounds. The rhythm sections are absolutely on fire. Instead of feeling like you’re practicing with a backing track, it feels like you’re playing with a real band that’s actually making music.
It’s honestly made me want to practice more. I’ll open it up planning to play for 20 minutes and an hour later I’m still going because it’s just so much fun.
Another thing I love is that they’re always adding new tunes. It feels like getting little surprise gifts every week because you never know what’s going to show up next. Every time I open the app there’s a chance there’s something new to dig into, and that keeps everything fresh.
If you’re into jazz and want something that’s actually inspiring to play with instead of just functional, definitely check this out. It’s become one of my favorite practice tools.

Position playback crutch
This apps inability to hide playback position will be a crutch for musicians actually working towards playing with real musicians. Sounds great, but does not help you learn to keep the form. IReal you can have it only show the top of form. This way you can think where the top is and compare to reality. Vs having your hand held to entire time. This is a core feature for backing track apps will happily update review when fixed.

The BEST Jazz play along period.
Hands down, the only Jazz app you need. I’ve tried them all and The FEEL BOOK is it. World class musicians laying down tons of feel on every track. The catalog is already a lifetime worth of studying if you want really get better at Jazz. New tunes are added regularly. Yes it’s subscription, but support the musicians who create the tunes so the FEEL BOOK can keep putting out high-quality tracks. The value is insane! Keep it up!

Wonderful! Bummer it’s a subscription
This app is incredible, specially if they keep adding new songs. The tracks sound super clean and are wonderfully fun to play with! Really sad it’s a subscription service instead of, say, a $15 or $20 one time payment, but I guess for this quality it’s worth it.
Highly Recommended
This app contains probably the best played and sounding backing tracks in the field of jazz that are currently available on the market. Absolute purchase recommendation.
Subscription model and no intro’s
As a function gig musician who uses backing tracks at weddings and other gigs I was excited about seeing and hearing this app. And it definitely has some nice tracks but what makes it not good compared to other, better and similar apps available are: 1, it’s a subscription model which is off putting and horrible, 2, although the standard of musicianship in the making of these tracks is great, there’s no 4 or 8 bar intro’s like there would be with a band and 3, even if there were, the app says you can’t use these tracks for commercial purposes like playing at weddings and other gigs and 4, the number of tracks that you get isn’t good for what would be costing me hundreds of pounds if I had it for a few years. But if you sorted those things out, I’d be a big fan but for now, its not for me unfortunately 🎷🎷

At what point should you just put a record on?
In terms of play-alongs these are probably some of the better ones available. But at a certain point, why not just put on a record and play along to that? Sure, these guys that recorded for this app are good, but they’re not Philly Joe/PC/Red Garland good, or McCoy/Jimmy/Elvin good. This is the perfect app for simulating what it feels like to play a weeknight club gig in NYC.
The records will always be the real thing, play-alongs are never going to simulate that.

There’s no going back
The quality and dynamic feel of the tracks are so far beyond other play along apps that I just want to learn every song here. The tracks build and vary over each chorus, often with tag endings and other interesting devices. Each tune is meticulously researched. The musicians are phenomenal —you’re truly playing with a world class jazz combo. The library is somewhat small now, but they add new tunes all the time. Is it worth the subscription? As long as they keep adding songs then 100% yes.

Mr
Took the plunge to purchase trial, very happy with the sound quality, just like real people playing here, hope they add options to add own chords.
real musicians
you’re playing along with real musicians who have played these tunes hundreds of times. that means that the tunes actually feel like what they’re supposed to feel like. Has the added benefit of being laser focused on the tunes that are being called at jams today
Love It
Awesome Tool
One Must Have Is Missing in An Otherwise Fine App
I do love the performances. That has been restated multiple times by many users. However, one glaring shortcoming hobbles this app in a functional way. Perhaps I am missing a setting. I have yet to enable background play. The moment I attempt to view my sheet music, the audio cuts off completely. I am missing the background play feature in settings? If not, this is the only glaring issue that I see with this app. Once again, it’s not the song selection or musicians, it’s just the functionality I desire to be improved upon to allow background play.

Best Play-Along by far
This is the most amazing collection of jazz tunes with legitimate world class musicians playing behind you. I don’t trust any review with less than a 5 star rating, quite frankly!
Empfehlung
Absolute Empfehlung!

KILLING
this is hands down the best option for jazz playalongs. the audio quality is unbeatable and the playing is super hip and at the highest quality. no tempo issues here like on some of the most famous playalong recordings we had previously... no mid tier youtube musicianship. only good stuff. I love the helpful info about the background information of the tune and why certain chord changes get used. can't wait to see what tunes get added during the next few months!

Amazing!
This is the future of backing tracks, it’s been very helpful on practice. I also love insights about the history of the songs, it’s a very unique experience!
The best jazz app, the perfect name, Bravo!
Nice choices of standards also new one every month. Thanks !
Best jazz playalong ever
Having used BIAB, IRealPro, Aebersold etc. over many years, The Feel Book is the best playalong app I've ever used by a long way. Rhythmic feel with the band is vastly superior to anything else out there and feels like playing with a real band. Interface is logical and easy to navigate.
