Good suggestions but the map app is awful

The app has lots of good places to go and eat/ do something different but the map mode in the app is terrible and crashes all the time. I like to browse places by area/ location so the maps and neighbourhood guides have lots of potential but really need to be developed to a point where they don’t crash/ get updated regularly.

Like the idea but not very easy to use

Many details about the app just make it so frustrating - eg, no easy way to go back after viewing a long article: no direct link to Google map and cannot copy and paste the name either; some bugs when I do searching; the events recommended were always sold out...

Amazing but please add clubs

Amazing restaurants and bars please add clubs and nightlife

Search

How can you search the Nudge? I want to find the best burger in London! The Nudge has a burger review article but I cannot search for it instead having to trawl through the database. Please make the app searchable And also why do I need a nickname to send a review??

Not what it once was

Many years ago The nudge was a way to genuinely be on the pulse of london from people in the know. It’s now heavily diluted and I’ve lost confidence in the curatorial quality control. So many of the offerings are massively oversold - so much so I thought it was just restaurant PR teams feeding the information (I’ve since been corrected by the Nudge).

The entity is either listed on the platform, or it’s not, with no nuance in the rating. I think this is a mistake - Restaurants/bars etc that launch 5 years ago can lose their sheen - chefs leave, get taken over, franchised, menus get stale etc. and that’s not taken into account - what was listed 8 years ago remains on the list. Also, when searching on a map view you’re inundated with choice making it hard to choose.

And it’s not that it’s fully comprehensive either - many of the best established “institutions” (subjective, but even just for italian spots I’d think Montpeliano, and Cecconi’s in Mayfair ought to make the cut) and new restaurants in london (ie The Fat badger, goldbourne rd) are missing off their list. So they’re stuck between having lots of pins on a map (making it hard to search by area and gauge relative quality on different dimensions) and not being fully comprehensive.

Yes, there are some “50% off” offers for members, but they’re hard to get and mostly soft launches where kinks are still being worked out in service and food. If you’re lucky enough to know the people behind a new restaurant, these soft launches are typically free.

I’ve been using the service for many years but have decided to cancel my membership

You’re essentially paying to be advertised to constantly.

Many years ago The nudge was a way to genuinely be on the pulse of london from people in the know. It’s now thinly veiled PR for bars, restaurants etc who pay the nudge to be on their mailing list with hardly any (real) quality control. It’s not a true recommendation engine - lots of the very best established and new restaurants in london are missing off its list. Amazing London guide

Extremely good picks for what’s going on all over London (not just bars and restaurants, but other cool events), and is constantly updated. If you subscribe you get offers for new launches too!

Good content, poor app

Great content on London. App could really use improvement - you can’t even Search on it anymore.

Good in parts

Excellent if you want to know about new openings but the gushing reviews are often way off the mark. We found Joia’s Bacalhau a Braz almost inedible. They need to get feedback from the punters. Lina’s in Marylebone was awful. They had Amalfi lemon on the menu which turned out to be your average Tesco lemon and they brazened it out by saying their customers hadn’t complained. They refused to provide tomato salsa with a dry cotoletta a la Milanese. I can search for “afternoon tea” on my PC but not my IPhone. Can you remedy this omission please?

Can you please create a SIMPLE search facility that gets you straight into the London map showing all the restaurants?

I love Nudge!

I love your writing style. It makes me chuckle. e.g. Best Seafood restaurants are not by the coast but certainly not coasting. 😂
Just the right amount of information about lots of exciting places. I also trust the reviews as I’ve been lucky enough to verify that on a couple of occasions to date.
Thank you for providing great, British review material with a huge dollop of foodie humour.

Good but could use an update

App does what it should but could do with a search function and filters for when you look for places, for example a price filter. The idea section is a great concept but a bit annoying to use with pressing in and out of menus. Would love to see some improvements come in for it especially for those that are members.

Great app. But needs more filters

Love the nudge.
It’s all about finding the place you want to go. They even have a venue approximate cost on the reviews.
But I can’t filer by this in my “ideas” searches.
The fields here need to become more dynamic depending on previous choices. I want to find a cheap meal.
This can’t be hard.

Impossible to cancel after trial

I signed up for the week trial but did not find it that useful, but found it impossible to find any useful information on how to cancel before the first subscription payment was taken today. I have now finally found a cancel option that I don’t believe was there before I had paid. Annoying but thankfully only 3.99 so not worth the effort to pursue.

Not sure of the value add

The search function is terrible and the choices are poor. No wow content as such. And I got tricked into paying for the subscription extension without my knowledge

Go to city guide!!

My favourite London city guide. Particularly love their ‘ideator’ and map section on the app. So handy when you need last minute plans as well as all the member perks, I’ve been able to try loads of new restaurants with a discount on the bill. OBSESSED

Great Coverage

Very inspiration and useful as you can get lost in so much diverse choice or unaware it’s a great one stop guide, reliable and informative, thank you very interesting guide.

Good content, but app crashes a lot

Bit annoying that there are this technical issues with the app “Something went wrong. We are reloading the app.”

Where/what are the perks?

The app lists lovely places to eat/drink and I thought the whole point of membership is that an offer comes with those places via Nudge. Absolutely nothing on the app mentions anything yet that’s supposed to be a perk of membership. Am I missing something? If not, membership, so far, has not been money well spent.
