What's New in The Oregano Trail

1.1.0

August 5, 2026

- The whole trail, not just the plains — your wagon now stops at all 16 landmarks, from Chimney Rock to the Blue Mountains, with a route tracker showing how far Oregon really is - Professions matter — carpenters repair wagon breakdowns, farmers dress +25% meat from every kill; pick EASY, MEDIUM, or HARD - Hunting takes real aim — smaller targets, faster animals, and a muzzle-loader that needs reloading; gunfire spooks the survivors - Starvation kills now — an empty wagon means dead pioneers in weeks, even in camp; hunt or perish - Classic mode — an optional longer journey with slower miles per turn, in Settings - Rivers got honest — no more waiting out a guaranteed safe crossing, and fort prices now climb the farther west you go (Fort Hall's smithy is the exception) - Share your fate — tombstone and victory cards now name your route and carry a download link

User reviews

Not an accurate depiction.

As an og Oregon Trail top ten scorer, this game fell well short of my standards. It was nothing like my experience on the trail, and my people kept dying with no dysentery. I completed the quest in less than two minutes, a time that gives no justice to the many months our ancestors foraged and risked their lives for a new beginning. Oregano Trail has dishonored their legacy and I will not tolerate another minute (which would’ve gotten me halfway). I am EXTREMELY disappointed and have spent more time writing this than I did completing the game.

Response from developer

Sorry for your loss.

Why…just why

The original Oregon trail would actually show people walking to their next location and eating their food and stuff but then I play this and when you hit continue instantly next
Location i heated the game in ten seconds first try 5 out of 5 people survived with like full health

Response from developer

A longer version is coming as soon as Apple review completes (which started last weekend). Hopefully you can play it again once the updates come and review again.

Too short

Get ready for 3 minutes of ok-ish fun

I haven’t played a game so short and I used to LOVE the Oregon trail as a kid

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! We are waiting on Apple to approve the longer version of the game. Hopefully coming in the next few days.

Fun Game

Like the one I remember on DOS. I like it so far. No ads.
